I loved 300! I had been wanting to see it for over a month. Visually, the movie was superb and the fighting/action sequences were great. I particularly liked the "slow-mo" effects, the characters, and pretty much everything else.

definitly, i also had a blast at some of the jokes, good stuff

hmmm cant seem to find an imax theater close to upper-delaware (within 100miles) thats playing this freakin movie...

(any help would be awesome in finding one, my internet skills are hampered @ work)...

otherwise its going to be a regular theater (which I cant complain.. regals here has 9.1 IIRC DTS & dolby Digital surround, stadium seating with comfy seats and Big ass screens... something like 121 feet IIRC?)

HIV was probably around a lot earlier. But it's pretty impossible to figure out if someone has a virus affecting the immune system w/o our current medical knowledge. The fact that it has spread so fast could mean that it started out different and mutated to its current form.

OMG what a dumb girl!

Obviously Karl Rove and Dubya are up to their tricks again. Sometimes Iran cracks me up!

Iranian official lashes out at Hollywood movie "300" for insulting Persian civilization(fight) (boom08) (gun) (blowup) (strike) (rlaugh)

An Iranian official on Sunday lashed out at the Hollywood movie "300" for insulting the Persian civilization, local Fars News Agency reported.

Javad Shamqadri, an art advisor to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, accused the new movie of being "part of a comprehensive U.S. psychological war aimed at Iranian culture", said the report.

Shamqadri was quoted as saying "following the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Hollywood and cultural authorities in the U.S. initiated studies to figure out how to attack Iranian culture," adding "certainly, the recent movie is a product of such studies."

The movie's effort wound be fruitless, because "values in Iranian culture and the Islamic Revolution are too strongly seated to be damaged by such plans", said the Iranin official.

Shamqadri, who is also a filmmaker, said that production of more domestic and artistic films which portray Iranian achievements is a proper response to movies like "300".

"300," an ancient epic about the famous Battle of Thermopylae in Greek history, set a new record at the box office in North America this weekend.

The Warner Bros. adaptation of the 480 B.C. battle took an estimated 70 million U.S. dollars in its debut weekend, according to figures released on Sunday by Los Angeles-based box office track firm Media by Numbers.

The R-rated film, based on comic book writer Frank Miller's graphic novel, tells the story that an army of 300 Spartan warriors led by their king Leonidas fought to the death to delay a massive Persian army's invasion, so that the Greeks could reorganize a counterattack.

tall ass muthafucka! lmao, and his voice was crazy

Why would Iran have such a problem? We portray the Persians as being the largest empire in the world with some of the most fiersome warriors EVER. Money and influence, too.

Besides, I'll bet 75% of Americans don't realize that Persia was ancient Iran.

true about the not knowing persia was iran. have there been complaints about the portrayal of persia in the movie? haven't read or heard anything

dont tell me becuase it was about how they had monster like things in the movie, the tall mofo and the b**** with blades as arms lol, now if they dont know that was fictional then i dont know what to tell them

it's all politics. nothing more than that. i know 2 persian people who thought it was one of the phattest movies they've seen. however, i'm not sure what the point of the piercings and homosexual likeness of xerxes was all about, since it had absolutely nothing to do with persians back in the day. the dude was fully bearded and fully clothed according to history

"300" made 70 million this opening weekend. Biggest profit ever in history for movies in march.

Oh, and biggest opening in IMAX theatre's in history also.
