i honestly did not know that. seriously. for realzzz. really. damn.

and i did some research and found out that the 2010 ms3 will be FWD, just like the 1st gen (boom08)

2010 is still fwd and heavier which = slower....when will mazda learn...

heavier, yes. slower, no the weight has gone up but they changed some gear ratios a bit

If the gear ratios are better and the intercooler runs cooler, thanks to the smiley new front end, it will not be slower. Can't wait till one is officially tested.

I'm betting the numbers will be equal to or better than the last one. The increase in displacement probably improved and widened the torque curve. Combine that with better gear ratios to take advantage of that and you have a winner. Possible suspension improvements to improve traction during 1st and 2nd gear accelleration. Less wheel hop/slip.

no they opted not to for some reason. The engine is the same as the 07-09 MS3 2.3t

yeah the same 2.3l engine. They were probably worried about engines blowing up w/the extra pressure... or they were too lazy to throw in the 2.5 :)

they even say in car and driver that the 2010 model will be slower. and that front looks like a big grin...aweful

Yeah but did they drive it?

Just because a publications says so doesn't mean they're right. At this point everything is hersay or guesses.

You got to wait and read ACTUAL road tests to find out if the car is faster or slower.

And when the first road test come out don't compare those #'s against the #'s from a different source. C&D and R&D got different accelerations #'s compared to inside line. C&D and R&D usually got 0-60 in 5.5 range, Inside Line got 6.0-6.1. So only compare new VS old Speed3 #'s from same source.

I really believe performance wise it will be the same, but with a better gearbox. I was not thrilled with the 08's gearbox I tried last year.
