2003 Protege 5 Cd Player

Hey guys im a new protege owner and i need some advice my cd player quite responding to my radio i was able to eject the cds with the car off but now i cant get it to take any cds in has anybody had this problem and what can i do to fix it i have the 6 disc changer and i dont really want to switch to aftermarket i think they look out of place.

are you trying to insert cd's with the power off? Cause if you are it simply won't work until you turn the ignition to accesory position or all the way on. If you're not, I dunno because I've never heard of this problem before.

no im trying with the car on i was only able to eject the cds with the power off but not able to with the power on

My single CD has been on the fritz about reading anything but the first and last track on a CD.

I'm just replacing it. You can pick up a used 6 CD changer for about $70 shipped. I think I have PM's from someone who wanted to sell it to me. PM me if you need the guy's name. He's here on MF.

mine is not responding to the buttons on the radio whenever i unplug the radio and plug it back in it runs through the holders or whatever it does so i know it works but i cant get it to respond i think that board might be messed up that connects the radio and cd player but i dont know where to get one

it sounds like it's toast, just get a new one or get that fixed, i've these guys a few times

i ended up replacing it with a pioneer its sad but owell what can ya do
