13 sec. 1/4 mile?

I remember a thread about this not to long ago. Someone recommended that the money be used for a wonder power making performance item called a trade-in. Once you have purchased the 13 sec car (Evo 8, STI, etc...) you don't have to spend much more to get in the 12's or even 11's.

at 10psi you wouldnt need 100 octane my friend..your barely stepping into that region.

:sigh: I wouldn't mind making it there (13s that is, for the fun of it). Autocrossing is alot more exciting in my own opinion. I'm waiting for some engine managment to come out and then it will be a fuel pump and injectors. It will be coming soon! Good luck with your quest.

I will show you some 13.xxx timeslips within the next few months. Once I get a boost controller I know i'll make it into the 13's. I don't care if I run a 13.999, I just wanna make it there. My mods are, ion fmic, ion 2.5 dp, (ion sri, soon!!), awr motor mounts, 15 inch rota subzero's with bfg drag radials on them. I will be ordering a boost controller with some of my tax return, I think with that i'll be close if not there.

I gaurantee we will be seeing some 13 second passes in the next few months...Since most of the tracks are closed for the winter, obviously no one has been posting times. And last year, a lot of us had barely started modding our cars. The last time I had the MSP at the track, it was BONE STOCK. Look at all the stuff I have added to my car in these past 6 months or so. It's gonna happen. And I'm not the least bit worried about my motor.(burnout)

You make it sound like its impossible. I am 99% sure that I will get my mazdaspeed into the 13's by May. I could understand if your point if I said I wanted 12's but thats not the case. I'll have video and slips to back it up when the time comes!!

with a good driver/good conditions they can run 13s stock at around 102mph.(3rd gens im talking about)

high 13's/low 14's stock.... depending on driver. Same goes for sti and evo.

mods? a lot... m2 intake, gotham racing rebuild, gotham racing turbo rebuild, racing beat catback, apexi dp, etc etc etc. Right now waiting to get car tuned again. Had to have a 7psi pill put in after the gotham rebuild and it's still a lot meaner than before the rebuild. Motherfucker is badass right now.... once it gets tuned I might end up driving with a hard-on for weeks at a time.


ps: reason I say stock for stock i got my money on an rx7 is 1) not everyone is a badass driver... infact 99% who think they are, infact aren't. and 2) sti and evo blow their wad before 5krpm at which point rx7 gets its second dose of lovin.

Its not a matter of no one being able too. Any moron can jack the boost enough to do it. The comment I have been commenting on was how many will break that seek it. Since many already have tried and failed, that number will be high for some time as the testing continues. Most of the people that try it will fail, as will there cars in a short time even if it makes it down the track.

it makes the car so much faster on the lower rpms, make sure you do it the "correct" way if you do it though, because i hear there is a shortcut way to do it but it never really turns out good.

I said no one has YET. That does not mean that no one ever will.

I have had only 2 points and most no one is actualy reading them.
1. No one has hit 13's yet on a track without race gas.
2. As it is new territory for the MSP expect most people that try for these times to not only fail but to damage their cars.


Everyone needs to remeber that even though the MSP is only approaching a year old. MP3s, P5's and other 3rd gens have been doing this for a while. The MSP is nothing radicly different. Cetainly some people will make 13's. How long the car lasts after that is another story. Thus far all that came close, have blown axles, trannys and motors.

I do not think we will see anyone able to repeat 13's without EMS.

(pow) ....thats what i think of your post there...just stick to your sti and dont make assumptions...your so called experience means s***...13 secs heh OMG! what an obstacle!...lol ima get some new tires and take it back out there..the ones i have are just about bald and still pulled what everyone else pulls only at 105mph.

lol and what i ran is what i do just about everyday...and the car is still holding.
