Painted P5 Interior Doors

I thought I would share my interior work with you all.

To do this I took the door skins off, then remeved the top and bottom halves by unscrewing them from the back.

The lower sections when completely sanded down smooth, so the little vains are now gone. Lots of primer, wet sanding and a final coat of semi-gloss grey.

From my initial tests, it seems to hold up agains scratching and flaking. i guess what they say is true, its all in the prep.

This was allot of work, and I had the door skins off for over a month, but I think it was worth it.

Wow thats so nice.

it looks like nice work, but it doesnt flow with the lower portion of the dash. do you know what i mean?

Thanks for the praise guys!!

Nope no fogs. One smashed a while back, sold the other to a member who had the same thing happen.

I just need to get a piece of mesh that matches the grills, cut into circles and
throw them in the openings.

I know exactly what you mean. Doing the lower half of the dash is project number two. But I would need one from the wreckers first. paint it all up and do the swap. I can't drive around with the entrie dash out for en exteded period of time.

I did the A pillars in black, and will do the other upper pieces and the roof liner in black soon.

gonna do something with the upper portion of the door panels?
it looks so nice what's painted it makes the stock pieces look bland.

The only thing planned, and this might be a good idea for most people, is to get either leather or vinyl, black perforated, maybe grey, and replace the factory cloth on the top of the doors. It would be really easy to do, Im just not sure how to yet because the factory cloth is on the door perminatly.

underneath the factory cloth in a plastic/vinyl material. you'd peel off the factory cloth and then rub/wipe off the glue on the panel. takes about 15 minutes for one panel.
