They look pretty yellow to me...

Alright, cool, I just placed a bid on eBay! Don't go there now, wait until the auction ends, then place your bid:D

I just ordered the PIAA H3 Crystal ION's for my Fogs, and the Super Plasma H4's for my headlights... Looking forward to the new look and vission!

For any of you who have the super plasmas-how do they look?

Hopefully better than the Hiper lamo-ones I have now.

Ok - here are some pics of mine.......

(yes, I just took these pics, I help you now and maybe in the future you will help me - we are all one big family...)

Thanks bro!!! They look niiice.. I can't wait for mine. :)

Still intereseted in the Bosal?

;)

How hard is it to change the fog light bulbs anyway?

Also, has anyone ever tried to tape one of the filaments from the bulbs parking lights/turn signals? I did that with a Jetta GLi I had and it looked great.

Basically, when you have the lights on you will not see the parking lights at all, only the turn signal when activated.

do yourself a favor and make sure the car is jacked up....it just gives you some working room - other than that i had no problems at all.......it is a bit teadous, but not that big of a deal..

Thanks for the advise. By the way, I noticed you have an AEM Short Ram, how much did you pay and did you notice any HP gains?

I love the AEM, i paid like $165 for it.....I noticed right away a diffrence in the response and sound and the overall power is better. I have not dynoed it with the AEM on so I'm not sure how much extra HP had been gained....But I love it....east install too.

I installed my new PIAAs tonight, and I'm very disapointed...

From far away they look like my factory bulbs, only when you get close you can see they are yellow(notcool)

Another thing: I tried removing the small antiglare that sits on top of the light, but couldn't get the lense off. End up chipping the glass(argh)

So overall, I'm not happy with my purchase. I don't recomend them to anyone, unless they're happy with what I stated above.

After reading all these posts from different members, my expectations were really high.

They might be for sale very shortly...

Regards,

GXL

One very dissapointed PIAA customer.

hmmmm. Are you sure you got the right ones????

Mine are clearly yellow from the start and light up the ground a flourescent yellowish. From a distance they are very clearly yellow and not a factory bright khaiki color.

PIAA ion yellow right?

I redid ALL my vissable lights wiht PIAA bulbs. Dome, both Map lights, Backup lights, side lenses, Fogs, and headlights. I am very happy with the overal viewability and look.

If anyone has any questions on the above bulbs I used ask me.

;)

Yes, PIAA ION Yellow.

How do I remove the piece of metal inside the light without braking the glass of course?

The piece of metal inside of the fog lamps? That is a clip that holds the bulb in place - why would you have to remove it?

Btw, I do not have any complaints with the yellow ions, I will admit - that they are not as bright as I expected.......But I guess I was comparing them to the Lexus yellow lights everyone is so used to seeing.

what watt bulbs did you get? stock?

I guess I was expecting too much. I really wanted the Lexus look, these lights came WAY short.

I'm not talking about the metal braket that holds the bulb, I'm talking about a piece of metal that sits right on top of the bulb. It has a screw on it holding it in place, but I can't get to thr screw without removing the lense first - that's where I'm stock.

I know what he's talking about, it looks like a little half shell kind of liek an eyeball. I'm going to remove mine tonight and see what it does. Should make for a world of difference in brightness.

I'll bet...

that you will find that that piece of metal that sits on top of the bulb is the shade that provides the "cutoff" for the light beam. In looking at the lens on the P5 fog lights, I don't see anything in the lens itself that provides the top cutoff for the beam that would make it a fog light. I'm betting that the little shell shaped metal piece does that. Removing it should produce another pair of headlights with no top cutoff. Let me know if I'm wrong. Jim

Good point!

Anyone here done this? If so, can you tell us how your fog/driving lights look now?

I might just keep that little piece in there if that's what is for. I want fog lights, not driving lights. I just figured I'll get more light on the road by removing that piece of metal.

This may be a stretch

A long time ago, I had an '80 Celica with clear fog lights. They had glass lenses and the amber bulbs didn't make it. I found a product in a craft shop for coloring glass or plexiglass to make stained glass looking windows. This stuff was basically colored plastic disolved in Toulene to the consistancy of enamel paint. It was completely translucent, came in 1 oz. bottles, in about 2 dozen colors, and bonded very well to both glass and plastic. With a toulene solvent base, it actually etched any plastic you put it on. I mixed orange and yellow to get the tint I wanted. I thinned the product out for spraying and sprayed it on the inside of the glass lenses of my fog lights with an airbrush. For the five years I had the car, the stuff never chipped off. Unfortunately, I don't remember what the product was called, nor do I know if it still exists, but it worked great. Jim
