My car does the same thing with putting an electrical load on it quickly. There's probably a setting in the ECU for an rpm ramp upon voltage demand... for lack of the proper term. I can look it up in my software and give you an idea of something to look for.
This. Just like the engine speed bumps up with the A/C on, the same needs to happen when the load on the electric system increases. I don't know if the Megasquirt has an option to ramp up engine speed based on electric load (probably not), but you could always get around this by bumping the idle to 1000 RPM or so.

The Hydra Nemesis does, that's why I'm familiar with it. I've had to adjust it a couple times.

I've heard other people complain about MS having a crappy idle with the a/c on, so maybe it doesn't have amenities for upping the idle when there's an extra load. That seems like a pretty basic feature...

The MS does. It can do slow/fast idle control with just a solenoid or PWM/stepper motor control. Not everyone takes the time to implement it though. If setup properly there shouldn't be a difference in idle quality with extra load on the car.

Sweet, good to know. I'm planning on running it after I build my motor.

Fuel rail, injectors, test pipe and spark plugs installed today. The last bit of parts that I could install before turbo :)

Old vs. new lol.. after I installed the injectors/rail, I tweaked the mspnp the best I could for the change and my car seems to be running spot on now, so thats sweet. Still have that voltage issue but my idle, accl and throttle response are pretty on point now.

Resonated test pipe by enthuza. The car isn't any louder surprisingly, the only difference I've notice is the raspy at WOT is a lot less noticeable. Now I'm concerned my car may be too quiet after turbo :/ lol

At the end of the day <3

Saturday Oct 15th at 8:00am PCT, turbo install goes down, and just like with the protege, it will be streaming live on www.justin.tv/xdjdubx so please tune in if you've got nothing better to do ;)

Man... I'm jealous of your intake manifold. I can't get to my fuel rail and injectors with mine.
