WTF is up with my MSP?? It's faster at partial throttle the it is at WOT.

Also, every gear but first feel slow too. Running 8.5psi which doesn't feel much quicker if any than stock boost and a FPR kit. Maybe it's just the way the car is and I'm not excepting it? Hope not. It certainly doesn't feel like a 14sec ride which I think the car should run based on my mods. Also have a custom SRI. I also noticed that the turbo becomes very quet once I go WOT. Is it suppost to do that? Or does it do that because of the very restrictive downpipe? I WANT my turbo to scream(evil) Anyone?

Later.

I'm running stock boost and I fell the same way- more power at partial throttle than WOT. I thought it was just me but my buddy drove it and he said the same thing. Mine is not flashed yet so that might have something to do with it.

yes, the hesitation would affect the car more so at WOT i believe. get the flash and that shoud remedy the problem.

My car feels the same way. I haven't had time to get the flash yet, and when I'm at part throttle, without the stumble, it feels faster. But that's the old butt dyno talking, so it may not be reality.

Also, my turbo quiets down once max boost is achieved. I've got a CAI that draws air from the fender well, with a big ass K&N filter. It makes a hell of a noise when spooling up, but then quiets down like I said.

I'm running stock boost.

Most turbo people I've spoken with have mentioned the same thing; that they get more power at partial than they do full out. Consider it a way to conserve fuel.

Yea, I agree that when fully spooled the turbo becomes pretty quiet, but you can hear it at WOT(while spooling). If its dry/cold outside it should whine throughout boost though.

So the slower at WOT is pretty common then?? That's not good. I wonder what is causing that? I bet a downpipe would change things around quite a bit. By the way, for people who haven't noticed in my first post I have a mbc at 8.5psi, FPR kit, and a custom SRI with a big ass K&N filter.

i didn't know if those were the only mods or not. :)

did the FPR help with your specfic car's hesitation? it still may be running TOO rich. i say get flashed...

I think it's more common on the pre-flashed cars. The stumble at WOT seems to kill a bit of the power on my car.

BTW, my big ass K&N is bigger then your big ass K&N!! :p

LOL!!

I don't know if I want to get the flash. I've read that the car still runs too rich even after the flash. The FPR kit did help, but once the car becomes heat soaked I get some dead spots back. I've read here that some users after the flash are still getting hesitation so I don't know. I'm just gonna get a full turbo back exhause which I think will help out with the hesitation a lot.

I don't think it's a "some" msp problem. I think all non-flashed pull harder if you lift the throttle about a half inch from the floor. Odd, can't explain why. Just know other MSP's I've driven are that way also.

I'm flashed and my speed still feels hesitant every once in a while. But that could be heat soak though. Sometimes partial throttle feels just as strong as full. Maybe a throttle cable adjustment could be a possibility. Have any other members tried so? 80% to the floor the car could be WOT throttle allready, so when you peg it your expecting more. In my opinion, the sweet spot on the speed comes pretty early.

All I can say is once i put my catless downpipe on most of the hesition went away. The downpipe does really make a difference a BIG one. After I installed my electric boost controller i would say the hesition is gone. My boost isn't really even turned up yet. I guess it would be the responsiveness of the solenoid to built and hold stable boost...

Yup, I'm flashed and my car still will accelerate faster at partial throttle than at full throttle.

Partial throttle is still faster then WOT with the flash. I did some 3rd gear trials from 1500RPM to Redline as a test. The times were better if I didin't do WOT.
