I'm keeping my MSP for a while. Amazingly, I have actually found a car that I am happy with and will keep for a long while. I really liked my P5 when I had it, but the MSP is just so much more fun!! I'll keep it, pay it off, and get another car as a daily driver, maybe a Mazda6 or something...probably be Auto, since I'm getting old and lazy...though I still prefer to drive a standard.

After looking at the pricing for the IS, FORGET ABOUT IT. Come on, starting price over 31k for the base model with 204hp? The G35 starts at a lower price and has almost 300hp. The new IS is waaaaaaay overpriced. Get the older version and slap a turbo on it.

would never ever trade.....till death do us part(am i right?)

anyways, the MSP may not become a classic...like the supras. but isn't it nice to stop at 10 red lights and never see another car like yours?

like when i was driving my supra...if i saw 2 or 3 a month it was either the same one or 2 different ones.

it feels good to drive such an special car...

it may not be the fastest.....but as other members had stated, it handles great!!! lets see all of those cars at auto-x...see how they perform....

Well said. Not too sure about till death do us part though. That's how I feel now, but I seem to tire of cars after about 2 years, so we'll see as of 8/2007 if I still love it.

Used IS300s around here go for less than 20k. Cheaper insurance, don't get screwed by depreciation, etc. I found a turbo kit from RevHard (don't know about the quality) for $4500, then fuel management for another 1k or so. So I'd say about 25k for a used IS300 plus turbo and it would be faster than the new IS350 (still guessing, but theoretically looks to be true).

In the end, I will never buy a new car again, unless they give me more than the value of my car as trade and super discounts. Otherwise, slightly used is the way I am going in the future, and I suggest the same to everyone else.

i went into the dealership 2 years ago to buy the sporty souped up mazda6. i saw my current blue msp in their showroom. i asked the salesperson what the story is behind the car. he told me how rare it is, about its handling, etc etc. told me this is the last one they had, and it's going to be sold, it was being prepped and now in the showroom. he called the guy up, guy turned it down. and i took it.

edit: i just realized this story has nothing to do with anything. but the point is, i bought this car because of it's rarity before i knew anything about it. i dont like owning something that 1451435 other people have. the only downside is, i get easily spotted by my friends and family while driving, and can't really lie about my whereabouts. "no mom that wasnt me at the strip club, paying off 2 hookers and a midget". yeah....

i looked for my MSP for 4 months straight....only test-drove it once...GOD love at first drive....it was awesome....maybe i was too desperate...but god...was it worth it??!?!? hell yeah!...

that was the first time i've ever driven a MSP and has not stopped driving it till now....and hope i will for a long time...it took me 4 freaking months to find one....and i ain't getting rid of it that easy.....

my msp was an impulse buy. I already had a downpayment on a BMW 318i w/ sportpackage when I drove the msp. I put a deposit and drove back to BMW to cancel the deal. I figure I'll have her for 10 years or more. Maybe for good. Every car I've been through (a LOT) I always wished I'd kept for one reason or another. But the MSP, I think I will keep unless life forces me to sell. I'm also not driving it daily so it's still a huge treat to get into when I do. I love the rare factor though - which I guess is why my other car is 1 of only 250 brought to Canada, and only 1500 were brought to all of north america. And you can't argue with the handling of the MSP!

Damm guys i relized that i can't give my baby that easy, im going to keep it for a long time , just put new shoes on (tires) this week and Im starting to modded now !!!! I will cry if i get rid of my msp .The fact that is so unique and is hard to find make me think and the handling is the best= I will keep my car forever or until i pay it off. Thanks guys for let me know that our rare cars are the best, with a decent power.LOVE YOU GUYS MAZDASPEED !!!!

hehe, phew, another saved MSP...

People, our job here is done....well done...

PS: King of the ovbious...

To some people, performance numbers mean more than production numbers. I've enjoyed my MSP, but I'm sure I'll enjoy my next car even more.

You've m ade a wise decision - NEVER roll over negative equity into another car, ANY other car - poor financials there, my friend. Oh - and we're not Lexus people. The Lexus dealership near me has a radio station, juice bar, nail salon...

I keep debating on selling my MSP, then I drive it or mod something and love it all over again.
