Winter Rims

I live in Buffalo NY and the winters here are pretty bad with ice and salt. I have been all over trying to find rims for the winter but the problem is that the bolt pattern for the MP3 is 5, and for a regular protege, it is 4. Has any one found winter rims yet? If so, please post where, and how much they were.

While I do not have an answer to your question just yet, I am in the same boat here in Wisconsin. My girlfriend's dad is a mechanic and knows some people for this type of thing. He's coming into town this weekend so hopefully I'll have some more info. I'm in the process of preparing for winter as well. Need an oil change, winter rims/tires, and a fresh coat of wax! So much to do, so little time! :)

Let me know if you find anything out yourself!

Well I got a set of stock Protege5 rims mounted on my MP3 for winter...it seems to be fine, although some people told me the wheel offsets might not be correct and I will rub if I corner too hard or take a speed bump too fast. Any ideas?

Well, I think I found a solution for the problem at hand. www.discounttiredirect.com has a pretty large selection of rims and winter tires for the MP3. They have full packages of tires and rims starting at $576.00. The other thing is, if you order before October 30th, shipping is free! Thats sweet. Good luck. I think I'm gonna order tomorrow.

MP3Ben, I have Protege5 rims also. The offset for the Protege5 rims is 50 while the Racing Harts is 55. So far I havent had any rubbing problems though.

im ordering tires off www.discounttiredirect if you get 15's they start at 428 with free shipping before oct 31st. i might go with 195's since people tell me that 205 wil be bad in the snow
