Who here has a Firearm?

i find with a 2 round burst the ak47 is very accurate.. the m4a1 is an okay gun no complaints close range m4a1 hands down.. distance perhaps the ak47.. or maybe a nice 50cal sniper rifle :).. thats when you start seeing body parts fly through the air

The only AK I have that'll do anything consistent past 150 yards is actually a clone. It's a Romanian SAR-3 5.56MM. Go figure. Anything with "rock and roll" flipped on won't be that consistent. The Barret 82A1 is an absolute monster, 1000-1500 Meter effective range. With a rifle that costs as much as a car and rounds that are several dollars per, I would hope so. The most accurate weapon I've ever shot is our Armalite AR-10, 1/2" groups at 100 yards. We had a Rock-river CAR that with iron sights, do sub-inch at 100 yards. I love the AR platform, I just hate having to clean them.

cleaning the AR/M-16 is one of the most horrible memories i have of the military

i have a Bushmaster AR15 M4 configuration and a mossberg shotty

Everyone should have a Mossberg 500 for Personal/Home/Zombie defense

Excuse me? Timothy McVeigh was a meth'd out nazi. Are you calling me a nazi? Are you completely out of your mind?

The recoil does not suck. The accuracy does not suck. A 7.62x39 will take something down in one hit. As opposed to my AR15 and SAR-3's 5.56MM which is a mouse caliber.

The stark difference between the American M-series rifles and the Kalishnikov's is that the M-series are rifles first, while the AK's focus on rate of fire and reliability.

Excuse me but as an owner of an AR15 you are saddly mistaken on reliablitily and accuracy. But as you stated you get one shot out of the ak and thats it ONE!!! after that recoil and accuracy are out the window. I have done hundreds of tournaments and all sort of stuff with my AR and nothing compares on accuracy and stability when mtying out mags quickly. But then again it has become a part of me. Also carry a kimber eclipse 4" on me at all times....hehe

Funny I am trying to purchase my first gun and the guy at the gun store told me to start with a Taurus, but I really want a springfield or a sig. Only thing is that I know nothing about guns.

Ya I wanted the Springfield XD 9mm tactical. But it was about $500 and I didnt want to spend that much on one so I got the Taurus for $305 brand new. I havent even shot it yet, lol. I dont know anything either, but some guys here at work know a lot about them, so they helped me.

Next time, read the rest of the thread. I have had two AR rifles and know them inside and out. The AR is substantially more accurate than the AK. Put 1000 rounds around through an AR though without cleaning and see where it gets you. Unless you are shooting match, black hills, TAP, etc, welcome to foul-town. When I say reliability, you could literally never clean an AK and shoot it for a life-time.

One of the best $239 I've ever spent. Good ol' Mossberg 500 "Persuader". Although I dubbed mine the "Face Breacher"

id love to live in the US, laws over here are a joke, u cant even hurt someone if they brake into your house and try to kill u.

lol, in FL I could shoot you if i "feel" threatened.....

Yeah, but you still have to have enough reason to exercise lethal force. It's not like you can just blast someone if they verbally threaten you. It's just the most lax on it since half of Florida is covered with road warriors and psychopaths.

lol I know that :p

I remember in 2006 when they expanded the definition of their lethal force law. The day it went into effect some old woman shot a would-be carjacker in the face down on OBT in Orlando. Man I don't miss living in that hell-hole.

lol I think OBT in orlando is right up there w/ 7th Ave in ybor city over here....

Oh man, Orlando, Tampa, Miami, and Jacksonville are easily the four corners of hell.
