While I was at the dealership

Sorry for the non-sense post before.

Well while I was at the dealership I was talking to a mechanic and he told me that I could encounter tranny problems later on (yeah its automatic). He then said I should mess up the tranny on purpose so I can get it fix before the warranty runs out. Sorry but this is a worried P5 owner.

Wow thats nuts for them telling you this! Well sorry to say this, but if they say that you "might" have problems, "they" should be able to fix it. If they noticed something that may look like a problem in the future, they should fix it now to eliminate having an issue.

Do you have the automatic where you can control the gear you're in? (Manumatic) . 2002.5+ have them

Well, you might wreck your car too so you had better just ram it into a wall now and get it over with. The mechanic was an idiot. If he noticed something wrong then they should be fixing it now under warranty. If he was just making a comment about the type of tranny and the fact that they have problems latter, then there is nothing to do but wait for the car to break down. If you wreck the tranny now on purpose they are not going to cover it. While you are at it if male pattern baldness runs in your family you should probably just yank your hair out now.

Theres nothing I can do but wait. Hopefully when the trannys goes the car will have close to 100,000 miles.

Honestly I would bring the car back and speak with the service manager and tell them the situation. Just leave out the part that the mechanic said for you to ruin your car. If you beat the hell out of the car and wreck the tranny because some mechanic told you too kiss your warrenty good bye! They will not honor it at all. Just get it checked out and then take it from there.

Ummm...no. You break the tranny and the only thing that you have for certain is a broken tranny. Why the heck would a mechanic tell you something like that under any condition?

That's weird for a mechanic saying problems about the car that you are buying. And how could he know? I'm not sure when did Mazda started making P5 and he already knows the future problems of our car? Why not he start designing our tranny and work for Mazda's manufacturing plant

Obviously the only thing to do is start doing line-locks until the tranny gives and then call Mazda Road-side assistance.
