which to choose

im currently in the market for a used car and was interested in the miata, and im kinda growing out of the protege...i have driven several before and cant get enough of um.. i would like to know some oppinions of which model and year r better in terms of styling, power,handling, and anything else u like or dislike... and at what price i might get a good one ( one that might need some work but runs) i ask because i dont know much about the cars... i have always liked the 1st gens more but am starting to like the newer one's as well... thanx

The 99 with the 6-speed is the fastest Miata up to date (excluding the MSM). I would try to get my hands either on a '99 Sport or if you were to go for the 1st gens, make sure it's a 1.8 liter and if you can get an R-package (same as sport)...

If you were to get a 1st gen 1.8 L you'll be able to run 10-12 psi for a nice ~240 rwhp.

the only 99 that came with teh 6spd was teh heavier 10th AE.

a 99 sport is considered the best performer to date, well except the club sport.

I've drag raced a friend's (who is very experienced) 99 sport before in my "heavy" 10AE. I was about a half car length ahead of him. And 3 car lengths on the SVT Forcus that was "trying" to race us.

Definitely buy one...I'll be picking mine up on Tuesday in SoCal.
