What's up, I am an svt focus owner

I'm boosting to about 10psi. It feels great, and quite quick; but there are others here boosting higher, with no problems. Joe (kwiktsi) is boosting much higher, with a few mods.

Engine wise yes the FS-DE (MSP-FS-DET) engines are pretty strong, the biggest problem has been getting a good fuel map. That seems to be the biggest draw back to the MSP is its current fuel map.

You guys ever driven and svt focus before?

i own a protege5, so i'm fairly unbiased. i have driven both the MSP and the svt focus, and the MSP out handles the SVT by far. there's too much body roll in the SVT. i'll admit the steering was tight, but for overall handling performance, the speed's gotcha.

I don't notice any body roll. The magazines said it has body roll, but it doesn't.

not HUGE amounts of roll, but in comparison to the speed, it's noticable. don't get me wrong though, the focus still handles well.

I came here because I like the msp and I have heard a lot of s*** talking about the svt going on over here. I just thought I would pop in once in a while to check on you guys:D I am not here to start anything, just to be a car enthusiast. There is way to much hating, whining, bitching, crying, over who's car is best these days amongs everyone. Who cares right, we all go our cars for some reason different than others. Let us all embrace each other, lol (that was gay). Anyways, I like all cars that are performance oriented. Peace.

Not me I just bought mine to b****.:p :D :p

I looked at the Focus SVT. With the 3k cash back the X-plan discount and the fact the dealer really really wanted to sell his remaining 2002's I could have bought one for a ridiculously low price. I was very tempted.
But alas the little temptress known as the MSP came along I was sold.

I drove the focus right before buying my MSP....I was so close to getting it to. It was black....I also loved the European styling of the focus....it was so sweet man. In the end I didnt like how it felt a little lower on power than my MSP did.....but IMO the focus is right there with the MSP.....the MSP just nudges it out slightly. Enjoy the site:)

So, can the msp hold up with upping the boost a little bit?

Yeah 12PSI here no probs and Joe has taken a stock MSP to 21PSI on 116 octane, colder plugs, FPR kit, FCD and his tuning experience.

I wa looking at a SVT before I bought my P5 but the price was a little much. The regular Focus just didn't do it for me.

YEAH!!!!!!!!! Gosh Darn!!!!!! I feel wood, now!!!

i havent driven the svt focus yet. But i will today. The reports ive read on it never really impressed me 0-60 in 7.4, 1320 - 15.8@89mph, 0.85 skid pad, slalom@68.7. Plus its fwd with an open diff. Not saying that the car isnt capable of becoming a fantastic machine but, its not what i would want to start with. In order for it to become what i want it would cost plenty of $$$$$. Add turbo, do tons of suspension mods, install lsd. But hey, i still have plenty of work left to do on my wrx. But at least it throws me to the back of my seat for now & launches like a beast. 17psi is sooo much fun.

Looks Like I got here late. I could welcome you to the boards, but I myself don't drive a Mazda....yet. I dream of the day... maybe steal my bfs one day for a spin...RIGHT. Anyways we looked at the SVT Focus oh...6 months?? 4 months?? ago. For the price it started at we were like Hell No. The Evo VIII um.. no. Not at 28k to start. But the Mazdaspeed at 20,500 HELL YA and its a damn fun car too.

I am a car enthusiast and I love all makes and models...erm to a point. I don't like anything like Kia. I mean anything that stands for Killed In Automobile sounds insane to drive.

I drive an overweight, underpowered, auto transmission beast of crap Honda Accord but hey, I still lurve cars.

didn't like it

I test drove the svt focus once. It just didn't seem that fast and the handling was kinda crappy. I liked the interior but thats about it. Plus the car was marked up $4000 cause of "dealer fees" an the saleslady wouldn't let me get the car up over 4000rpms :wtf: Oh well, drive what you like man
