OK... We've owned our baby for 4 months now. And we're having a tough time feeling comfortable in any of the CX-7 forums.
The problem? We have no problems. Everyone else seems to have troubles galore, and we just want to fit in.
The following is only a small sample of the complaints and laments voiced in this and other Mazda forums - and - our personal experience and observations regarding those issues:
Vibrating doors... We're not exactly sure what that means, but ours don't even quiver.
Whistle in moonroof... We've found no musical instruments at all.
Leaking headlight... No water, condense, moisture or body fluids to be found in any of our lights.
"Clunk" in drivetrain... We've got no "clunks" anywhere (well, my daughter's ex-husband lives in Atlanta).
Abnormally low gas mileage... No, but not abnormally high either. Just kinda, well, normal.
Life-endangering turbo lag... WHAT?
Tarnish/rust on chrome and aluminum trim... Glistens and glows.
Soot on rear bumper... Bumper guard on ours.
Uneven jolt in gear transition... Is the even dispersal of jolts more desireable?
CEL on... Off.
Aggravating oil leak... Not even a mildly annoying one.
Mid-range acceleration surging... Only when pressing aggresively on the gas pedal.
Antifreeze smell... We kinda like the smell, but no.
Funky horn sound... On the plus side, it could take you back to the 1970's. Wish ours had a Regae sound.
Sporadic autolock... See "vibrating doors" above.
Etched-in spots on glass... Ours didn't come with the knobs, magnets and iron filings.
No bass in Bose rear speakers.... Bose put tuna in ours.
Touchy steering... Yes, thank God! But more "feely" here.
[IRude and ignorant Service Managers... Wouldn't know. We've bought five Mazdas over twenty years from the same dealer. That's right - no trips to the service department for problems, ever.
Blind spots... Fortunately we did have blind spots on the CX-7. But unfortunately it only took a couple of $3.00 stick-ons to fix 'em.

C'mon, you know the system sounds great. Good grief, you're driving, in traffic, moonroof open, with two kids and a dog in the back, while talking on a cell phone and eating lunch, in a motor vehicle with wheels and an engine and pumps and other components that move and make noise AND THERE'S NO BASS IN YOUR BOSE REAR SPEAKERS? Well there ain't none in your Bose home theater rears either.
