What have you done to your P5 today?

I just had to rip out my alarm. What a pain.

cleaned the inside of the car, the weather is all over the place so I decided not to wash it.

Also should be picking up a urethane DG lip soon. =)

dropped the motor in, trying to figure out some vac lines, hoping to fire her up for the first time tonight. I still have never driven the car since ive owned it (bought with a blown motor), so now its fully forged.

wish me luck

Really am thinking of ripping out the alarm too (I got it for the remote start, but it doesn't work)... may just save it for a meet day or something to see if anyone else could figure it out.

I now have 2 new fog lights sitting in my son's room under his crib for when I get all my lighting goodies from Matt V. Once that is all installed and wired up (when they come in the mail) I will have 2 brand new non broken fogs (debacle from installing H3 fogs without modifying the housing, hopefully the new bulbs will work out... crazy HIDs I tell ya) and beautiful retrofits to install. Then I may do front brakes and finally put brake lines on all four corners (of the stainless verity)

Cleaned my EGR valve today. It wasn't that bad but I figured I may as well get it done the first time. I left the TB in place to save time. it was certainly awkward to get at the bolts but I've worked on worse.

I disconnected the battery while I did the job. I really didn't see any noticeable difference in the car after, though.

Did you take apart the valve and oil the actuator and valve stem? It could just be that it's too far gone. The last couple times I cleaned mine the improvement only lasted 3-4 weeks.

Yup, cleaned and oiled. By not bad, I mean there was not a bunch of carbon/crud and the valve moved freely. I had to run to the store after my first test drive and this time it seemed to idle slightly smoother. It runs great but the at idle shakes bugs me. I'll probably replace the enginie mounts come spring time. We had more freakin' snow here today so I was just tinkering anyway. The wifemobile was already cleaned and waxed so I figured to spend some time with the P5. The hotrod will stay covered for a another month or so and that doesn't need anything.

Drove to King of Prussia to meet up with skatnrlz1986....bought a Progress rsb and AWR endlinks for some cash and MSP links. Can't wait to get them installed!

I installed my new sound system today.... and I love it! boston acoustics sr80 speakers with boston 802x amp. Found out my door tweeters are dead but I dont really care. So ive been thinking I should replace my rear speakers while im at it. should I complete the set with more bostons for a little bit more money or get some decent fosgates or polks? I wouldnt power them except by deck which is 45 rms x 4 and stock wires

Return the SR80's and get an SR60 component set instead of upgrading the rear speakers.

the sr60's are $50 more expensive at the cheapest price I found them. Plus these wouldnt fit up front where my sr80s are sitting. think I should get the BA s65 for the back?

wow I didnt even know I was apart of a club but I got this too )^; how much for dealer to fix?

It's not a very exclusive club sadly, if you have a protege you can get in...

I called up a local dealer a while back and they wanted something crazy like $400 but a regular garage will do it for less than half that.

Why wouldn't the sr60's fit in the front? All you need is a 6x8 to 6.5" adapter. I am running polk sr6500 components in the front of my p5.

The $50 is much better spent on front components than 100+ for rear fill speakers.
