What have you done to your P5 today?

make sure you have more of the trim tape from the autoparts store

After removing the smallest section, see what it looks like

If it's faded, throw some new tape on it and slap it back on the car

If not, continue! lol

Magnum...when I first got the miata it was faded and the clear coat was chipping right off.
While the car was over @ Kevin we tried some wax n elbow grease. You'll be pleasantly surprised!
Well it doesn't look like the mouldings will ever be coming off now. I pulled the little one on the driver's side (the one on the front fender) and when I pulled it off there was a nice little line of clear coat. I'm assuming when I got in my accident back in '07 and they blended the paint (they replaced the hood but not the fenders, I believe) they sprayed right over the moulding. So yeah, when I pulled it off there was a nice "ridge" all around where the moulding was. The paint looked fine underneath, which was good, but I don't want to leave an exposed edge for clear to chip off. Perhaps one day when I get a front lip I'll remove all the mouldings and have the paint should touch up those areas as well. I didn't check, but I imagine the mouldings on the doors were fine underneath. Just going to have to deal with them for a little longer...

curious to see shots from further away

I almost like the silver better than chrome....

here ya go

Lots of pics but its all good. i wonder if im the only one to have done this on the LaserBlue P5? if so and people like it well i started a trend :DDD
Did i use bleach? no i didnt, i sanded it down i fergot what grit. but i guess using bleach would be a good idea to do it.

^^^ Looks good! I should try that because then the emblems would match my wheels! Right now, they're the only things that are chrome on my car.

^^^ Sanded it down, primed it white, but for the rears i didnt primer cause the paint is very sparkly so it sticks on pretty well, and its very rough sorta like primer so after that i did about 2-3 coats of silver, and then i went and cleared it w/ 2-3 coats for extra protection.
the krylon i used has a Silver top, or Chrome top and it says silver on it. got it at walmart and the clear coat i used was satin i think or maybe gloss not sure.

Used engine restore for the first time today and put some belt dressing on the belts to quiet those suckers down a bit. Didn't do too much driving today so no impressions of the engine restore yet.

Oh and I am looking for an Injen CAI if anyone has one for sale.....

Does that stuff really work? Did you have low compression or somethign or is this a preventive thing your doing?

It's just preventative. I figured I'm at 91k so I should start doing some preventative stuff about now. My friend's dad went through about 3 quarts a week of oil and used that stuff and went down to about a quart to a quart and a half of oil. I think it does what it says it does. I also think I'll be adding it to the oil during every oil change now. I'll let you know if the car rides better over then next couple of days.

ok keep me updated! I wounder if that stuff has any hidden issues like the rad stop leak car plug up your rad and what not... Not sure about the engine restore thing. I've never used it or talked to anyone that has used it either.

i'm still looking to get another MSP lip in blue

i have to agree, the little projectors don't quite fit w/o the lip

But, the light output from these things is phenominal!!!

i still am waiting to see how they look with the new headlights.

I think it won't look near as odd
