What have you done to your P5 today?

Acoustic Material Finished

Got everything done and back together - total time about 10 -12 hours including the removal and reassembly of the interior. Only thing left is test drive it.

*Update - Test drove the car and it definitely made a difference. Our roads have a lot of breaks from winter so you get alot of suspension noise. Now you feel the bumps and not the noise, its really muffled, awesome. I actually have the radio turned down too , it was ok before but its an improvement, for sure, worth all the work.

That's friggin major, good job.

actually placed my spark plugs, wires, and coil packs order today.

from sparkplugs.com:
- NGK premium plug wire set for 2003 Protege
- NGK ZFR7F-11 plugs (will likely need to regap them, because I think the gap needs to be a little smaller)

from napaonline.com:
- two oem-ish coils for $37.99 (vs I think $150 a piece from mazda.. so even if they only last 10k miles it'll still be cheaper in the end).

YAY.. put the Falken/Racing Harts back on just now.. I can corner really good with Z rated tires.. :D

Nope. I personally do not want to ruin the factory sealing on the doors but I feel door hinges have a difficult time as it is holding up such heavy doors so the added weight would just wear them out even quicker and it would not a be huge improvement. Most road noise is generated from it bouncing off the bottom of the car and after an hour drive in the car its really quiet. It just seems a bit better, by no means was it bad before. It's nice to have the car back together especially since it still new to me. I will finish off the trunk area however.

The funny thing was driving around for a couple of weeks with no interior just how cold or hot the floor gets so I think acoustically it will help but maybe it will stay cooler or warmer from the install too, who knows.

lucky duck... probably a good month or so before mine go back on :( though i have to say the weight of the stock wheels is much nicer for acceleration than the racing harts...
