What have you done to your P5 today?

thats happened to me too! cool!!:)
Its the best when a group of girls do it and start saying how cute it is, for some reason the shape of the 5 makes them spit out that phrase automatically (thumb)

Took my daughter to softball practice, then drove to Dick's to buy a bat, bat bag and protective cage for her helmet. Then drove home in the rain. Did see a yellow P5 in the parking lot....anyone here?

Put on the Injen, installed my Pirana chrome coolant can. Need to get some gaskets for the newly wrinkle painted valve cover and intake manifold.

What color did you do the valve cover? I think I might give that a try some weekend when it is a little warmer so that I can take my mountain bike places if I need to go somewhere.

I'd like to get it powdercoated but I might as well try the wrinkle paint first, I've seen some pics of a red one and it looked really good.

I did it in the red. I thought about powdercoating too, but, I really like the look of the wrinkle finish. Need to get the gaskets and mine is going in....... My stock wheels will be powdercoated soon, if I can ever get a hold of the guy who is going to mediablast them for me............

! that looks awesome. I need to get myself some of that wrinkle paint asap. Where did you get it from? If there is a store around here that has it in black I might just start on it with my car tonight :P

I ended up ordering it from www.carshopinc.com

But, I know that some of the Saturn dealerships are "Saturn Motorsports" dealerships and I have heard that some of them stock it. My local dealer didn't so I just ordered it. I don't know of any store that actually carries it. Autozone, Advanced auto parts, etc. around me don't have it. Didn't look at like NAPA, they might carry it. Might just have to call around and see. It looks cool though, I really like it. I know VHT makes it in red and black, not sure of any other colors.

It's the VHT wrinkle plus red. Their part # is sp-204.

I'm going to go to Lowes and/or Home Depot to check out if they have a high heat wrinkle paint, even if it isn't the VHT stuff. I already searched the Autozone, Advance Auto Parts, and Pepboys web sites for "vht" and they didn't turn up anything. :(

Tonight I'm going to have some nice 1-on-1 time with my Protege5. I bought some Mobil1 gear oil (might as well give it a try, I'm running with the redline MT90 right now and didn't notice anything changing from my stock gear oil at 50k miles to the redline stuff), some flat black spraypaint, and some other little items.

I'm going to finally attach the CF piece above my glovebox, I searched long and hard and got my hands on some of the proper 3m adhesive for the job.

Other than that little bit the rest of my work will be under the hood. I'm finally refinishing my cold air intake; right now it is "brushed aluminum" style because I sanded it down but never painted it. I am painting something else under the hood but I'm not telling what it is until I finish (if I even do it tonight).

Oh and the Duplicolor wrinkle coat paint is available at Advance Auto Parts (and via www.partsamerica.com) but it isn't high heat as far as I can tell.

One very interesting thing that I saw was something new from Duplicolor. Spray on Temporary Car Bra!

It comes in a clear color and some other color and it says it gives you the protection of a bra but washes off with just soap and water. I'm a bit skeptical about taking a rattle can of any kind to the exterior of my car but if it really works I'll buy a dozen cans!
