What have you done to your P5 today?

Well I should have known it wouldn't last. The "Withstands 1200F" "suitable for exhaust headers" paint I applied like 6 coats of last night is almost completely gone already.

That was so many hours of work for nothing. At least I got quite a few other things touched up. Eventually I'll either have to polish the header so that it can bronze evenly or get it powdercoated or something. I even let it cure overnight. 5 minutes of driving to the store and back and it was already bubbling, and then driving to campus to study at the library and I get back and big chunks of it are missing and a lot of the rest is flaking off.

argh. damn you duplicolor.

I wanted to paint my rear calipers today but didn't get a chance to because I've spent 7 hard-working hours today on homework so far and I'm still not going to be done for a while.

At least I have my hopes up for my MAM midpipe coming before the weekend so I can finally get rid of those atrocious spring-loaded bolts on my exhaust system.

Looking at pics and sighing heavily

took her out for a 40 mile drive in the afternoon......down some back roads in my area!

I can't wait to get back to New England (not until the end of May unless I come back for the meet) for just that. The roads here bore me; just flat, straight, and pothole-ridden.

Dealer fixed my fan switch on Friday (under warranty). It was only working on full blast.

Threw a new air filter in yesterday.

Wanted to wash the P5 on Sunday (really nice here in MN), but there is still melting snow around. Figured it wasn't worth getting her dirty the second I were to drive anywhere. I'll wait for the snow to disappear. :)

Installed custom cut carbon fiber for radio surround. Covered the faux CF. Also installed door sills.

nice josh! you're a modding nut this spring!!(thumb)

Thanks man. I've got to give props to our NEPOC buddy CrazeeD for the parts. We also installed DG carbon fiber for his interior this weekend. Pics to come of course.

Now all you need is the CF piece above the glovebox. I love the pieces that cover the faux CF, I won them in a giveaway on these forums so I just had to pay shipping :)

They are just such a nice subtle mod that makes the interior look higher quality. Now I just need to get the gauge surround but it sucks because I'll have to relocate the LED for my OEM alarm (I drilled it in the position recommended in the installation guide, right in the center of the gauge surround) off of the gauge surround and maybe onto the steering column or upper dash near the VIN plate.

I can't wait to see all these fresh mods everyone is installing at the next NEPOC meet. Damn having to put a thousand miles on my car to drive home for a weekend and then drive up to MA for a meet. I really didn't want to drive home until the end of the semester but with the meet in April and my sister's graduation it looks like I'll be getting to the "high mileage" range sooner rather than later.

I received a couple items today. First is my prized engine block heater. I can't freakin wait to plug my car in at night :) even though it's in a garage. I think I'll put it on a timer so that the heater just turns on a couple hours before I have to leave in the morning or something.

Second is another set of Luminics Ultra White bulbs. One of my previous ones shattered all over the place, hence me re-baking my headlights a few days ago. The bulbs are on national backorder but I managed to get my hands on a set through my asian correspondent in CT :P

pardon the terrible image quality, it's from my Nokia 7610 :P
