What have you done to your P5 today?

Cool. Yeah these stock bulbs just plain suck. What was Mazda thinking??? These PIAAs should be brighter than hell. Maybe they'll match my HIDs fairly well. I'm off tomorrow, so hopin to install in the morn.

Long as you don't break any bolts or torque off any screw heads, it shouldn't take more than an hour or so. They'll def. be brighter, but, I think they'll still look slightly yellow in comparison to the HID's. What color temp are you running? I can't remmeber.

I had silverstar Ultra's in my wife's car and, yeah, they were WAY whiter than stock, but, they still looked yellow compared to the 4300K hids.

Shoot, my 35 watt hid's almost seem yellow to me now. I am never satisfied. lol

Just have to see what's up next for my lighting situation. I see a sharper cutoff in the near future

Hi, Just joined the forum. I have an '02 black protege5 that I bought 2 months ago. I had an '01 protege ES 2.0 before, that crashed and burned (literally) on the freeway. I know the stock tires on the proteges are piss poor at best, so I was wondering what would be the best tires to switch to (using the original factory rims) for a wisconsin climate. Thanks!

Just ordered some clear bumper markers. Woot! Also ordered a stock lic. plate bracket so I can actually mount my tag correctly instead of having it in a hole i had to drill cause Mazda was brilliant when they put the holes for our license plate.

Speedbird 78: Ideally, purchase a set of snow tires and a set of summer tires to get the most out of each season. I have Michelin X-Ice for the winter which perform very well. I've yet to buy summer tires but have heard good things about Kumho Ecsta SPT's...

& welcome to the forums.

x2 I just found some Blizzaks on craigslist for $100 and will be mounting them up on 14" steelies by next fall.

I have also heard good things about the SPT's and have personal experience with Toyo Proxy TPT's and loved them and have read good reviews for the Falken Ziex ZE-912 (which just replaced the 512). When searching for the stock size....look at 205/45/16 and 205/50/16 as well. You will find a much bigger selection as well as a broad range of prices. There isn't a lot out there in our stock size.

Istalled my 03 Ford Escape wiper control. Thank god for intermittent wipers

Amen brother...installed my 03 Tribute wiper switch just recently and love it!

i am so excited for it to rain now. I can't stand watching people drive around polishing their windshields in the mist. Now I don't have to be one of them.

shananagens, I might try that!!

Do it!!! Simply relase the 'tilt' lever all the way down and then remove the three screws under the steering column. Next pull the two halves apart and remove the two screws holding the switch in place. Remove the wiring harness and slide out the old one.

Repeat for steps above for variable wiper goodness. lol
