Unichip is a hack more then a plug and play but he sends and ecu that has open slot on it. You do have to remove the chip to refresh with another tune. Until his tune by obd is ready. Who knows if he'll go through with that if no one buys in. There are a lot of benefits, tuning idle, open and closed loop tuning, tuning of all ecu variables. You could tune for e85 if you wanted but that wouldn't be automatic like haltech with the ethanol reader. You can permanently turn off check engine light codes. You can change rev limiter, speed limiter boost cut off. I don't have emissions but they would not know. The down side is I believe you will need a mbc or ebc if you want to change that on the fly.so does the ecu they send you store that data or do you need additional hardware? or dyno time ect? it still sounds like quite a lot when you can get a unichip with ebc and tuning software from pope for less. if his instructions are as clear as say, split second, that one sounds like a no brainer unless you really didnt want to touch the wiring at all.
dont get me wrong, a plug and play option is fantastic of course.. but if its $600 that seems a little pricey for a hack.
I'm sure Pope will let us know his thoughts as he tunes it for my build. He and I have near the same setup.
