What have you done to your MSP today?

I need a lot more information rather than posting a picture/video and examples. I want to know what/how the interface operates and every other detail about it.
I donated my ECU so I'll be one of the first to try it out. I'm going to see if Tom will test it out for me since we have the same performance setup.

I sent a message to get some more info about what tuning and datalogging capacity they're bringing to the table. I'm happy to check it out Chris, but I'm not sure it will be able to replace the unichip in my setup and I don't know that I want to do double tuning.

Found a vacuum leak from the FPR solenoid supply side- the hose was split. Repaired it and now I'm running super rich (9.0:1, hunting for an idle intermittently and a hesitation at 3,500RPM. Throwing a MIL with a P0090. Swapped out my solenoid after work last night with a known-good one (from the P5) and it codes on the first drive. Going to have to look into it this weekend. I honestly think it's an ignition issue, but we'll see.

Did you reset ecu?

Yes, but not for this problem. Was doing some electrical with my gauges, so the battery was disconnected. Didn't expect a difference anyway. I've cleared the DTC several times and ALWAYS immediately returns. I suspect I have two completely different problems occurring. One being the P0090 MIL and the other being an ignition coil/spark plug. The MIL has been illuminated because I don't have a rear O2, but I have my adapter on the DLC at all times, so kept checking it every few days to make sure there was nothing new. Then it showed up. Only when I was searching for the potential problem for the rich AFRs and hesitation.

I found my oil leak! Corner of the valve cover, where it goes over the cam caps on the Cam gear end. Right at the bottom of the hills you know? Little bugger. I thought it was my Camshaft oil seals this whole time! I've replaced them and redid my timing 3 times in the last 3 weeks trying to fix the issue! So happy its done.
Now, Im working on a custom intake setup, I will have 1 extra for sale. Its a 3 inch (OD) intake with a reduction coupler on the end to connect to the stock turbo. Its a short ram that sits right behind the headlight. I bent up some pipe and will probably have Brian Lawlor powder coat it :)

You posted on one of the FB pages, right? Someone told you it was because they were aftermarket they were leaking? I told you that's where it was probably leaking from.

So,yesterday I put plugs in the car and also connected my FPR vacuum line s directly to the manifold. Car runs great, AFRs are great. Decided to take it out this morning, hit the twisty back roads, then did a couple of WOT pulls on the interstate. On my way back home third gear went. Going to transmission #7 now.

First one was the OEM LSD, second was a cracked case and the rest have been third gear... I'm open differential on all-season radials...
I've got a core downstairs and I'm going to run over to Pull-A-Part today and grab another transmission. The P5 needs bearings and I've got to pull the transmission to do that and considered cannibalizing it and picking up a transmission when I get back from vacation. If I didn't already have a core ready to take with me, I might do that.

I need a clutch housing side of the transmission case to send to Brian. In IN, do you have a spare?

Lol, I've got two bellhousings downstairs.in addition to a failed third gear g series complete and a 6spd AZ6 from an MSM. Plus an MSP block and about 500 other parts, what else do you want? Lol

id really be curious to watch your driving habits that you can kill stuff with such regularity, esp for a street car. lol. you really need to get the stiffening plates for your transmission. consdiering how many you have murdered, it would be super cheap investment lol.

WOT all the time.

i almost never go wot anymore lol. the car seems faster if i just crack the throttle open about half way. for whatever reason wot just bogs and though it is faster than a NA car it certainly isnt justifying all the noise lol. i dont think i want to get a split second again and i cant afford a unichip atm as we are possibly moving and our market is ****** up.

but i got to thinking maybe reducing the gap on plugs, putting a beefier ground wire in, like 4 gauge from the head to the chassis... replacing coils and wires ect.. i know the car runs rich, but for it to bog so much im worried its blowing out under wot.

Changed front and rear sway bar bushings.
Front sway bar bushings = living hell, lol. Did it without taking tires off or dropping crossmember, not fun. I was cursing Mazda engineers.

heh... pulled the plugs, closed the gap 27-31ish, cleaned the coroded engine grounds.. engine wants to die at idle now lol.. maybe ill open those plugs a tiny bit more tommorrow.some of them were mid 30s which I thought was a little too high.. but maybe ill cut my old unused amp wiring and just run a fat 4ga wire from the head to the chassis rather than dealing with all these piddly 20ga grounds.

Until it's put into use in a real world vehicle, it's hard to say.
