What have you done to your MSP today?

so does the ecu they send you store that data or do you need additional hardware? or dyno time ect? it still sounds like quite a lot when you can get a unichip with ebc and tuning software from pope for less. if his instructions are as clear as say, split second, that one sounds like a no brainer unless you really didnt want to touch the wiring at all.

dont get me wrong, a plug and play option is fantastic of course.. but if its $600 that seems a little pricey for a hack.
Unichip is a hack more then a plug and play but he sends and ecu that has open slot on it. You do have to remove the chip to refresh with another tune. Until his tune by obd is ready. Who knows if he'll go through with that if no one buys in. There are a lot of benefits, tuning idle, open and closed loop tuning, tuning of all ecu variables. You could tune for e85 if you wanted but that wouldn't be automatic like haltech with the ethanol reader. You can permanently turn off check engine light codes. You can change rev limiter, speed limiter boost cut off. I don't have emissions but they would not know. The down side is I believe you will need a mbc or ebc if you want to change that on the fly.
I'm sure Pope will let us know his thoughts as he tunes it for my build. He and I have near the same setup.

This first option is a tune yourself. There will be a cheaper remote tune. Where you will send you logs and get a tune back. Much like old unichip with jdmsam

My car is going back on the lift. It's getting ms6 front brakes which are much needed and a set of tein ss coilovers. While I'm under it, I'm going to build some new trailing arms and lateral links.

I was running this weekend for about 10 minutes until I revved to about 5K and the oil line popped off around 70psi and sent about a quart or 2 of oil spurting over my passengers side fender, into the neighbors yard. lmfao. That was kind of funny in hindsight.

The fitting is defective.. I tried to make it work and get away with it, but I'm not all that surprised.. I ended up shelling out $12 to ship a $9 fitting to have it two day air'ed from summit racing.

Good times though. lol Everything else seems okay. Except the yard. I'm guessing thats gonna leave a mark. haha

the stock fittings worked just fine for me lol. in both cars. ah well. purple power and pressure wash that b****. will look brand new.

Purple Power is the best s*** on the planet. I clean my engine and bay with it. And the driveway.

I started prepping for the intake manifold build. It's been a while since I've played with composites, but I think this will be fun. I've wanted to do a carbon manifold for years.

The MSP is getting it's first set of brake pads in six years! Ha.

I'm back on the getting rid of it kick. It's not giving me any problems (other than the transmission), but coming from the Rx-8, to the MSP and P5 to daily, leaves a lot to be missed. The creature comforts, quiet, comfortable seating, functional HVAC, etc. The P5 I expect I'd get $2,000-$2,500 at best and I'd rather just buy outright as opposed to payments. I posted the MSP last month just to get an idea if I'd get any interest at $5,000 and I did have four emails, but never reached out because I didn't have any real interest in selling it. If I combined the two, that'd give me ~$6,000 to buy a normal daily driver, but I'd have a big gaping hole in the "fun car zone". Last time I opted to combine my daily/toy was with the MSP 6 years ago and that didn't work out too well. I don't like putting my girls in the MSP without A/C in addition to the noise levels and firm ride. The P5 isn't as bad obviously, but it's at 220k miles and 14 years old! I need to minimize spending on cars until I can get other more important things established in life, like, say, a house and business. Spending a few thousand every year in once chunk, then hundreds more throughout the year every year combined with the time it takes away from me to be doing other stuff, interferes with such things. Moving forward with the MSP I'll need a few things- Engine management and manifold are the two biggest expenses of those. Looking at just that in the future, even used, I'll spend at least another $1,000. I need to move on to something else, something modern, something fun, something dependable. I should probably stay away from anything forced induction.

Sounds like you want a civic si four door. As your daily. Or you could trade the guy on facebook for is Audi

Not a fan of Honda vehicles. And I won't be going with a car that small, that's for sure. And I'm not driving a 14-year-old Audi. I ran a European shop for 6 years and while I like them, I wouldn't own one. I'll likely be going with a 10-12 CX-7 or maybe a Cx-9 if I find one for a great price.

I need more room, too. You'd be surprised how much room a 2-year-old and a 7-year-old will take up in a vehicle. Especially when you're preparing to go on a 1,800-mile round trip car ride in an Accord.

That's why 19/20 days (or more) I'm driving the expedition. It's quiet, big enough for the five of us and whatever junk we might have, and it's comfortable. I'd love to upgrade it to a newer one, with my short commute it's almost the perfect daily.
