What have you done to your MSP today?

mmmm... very good point as well, didnt think of that. maybe its a combination of BOTH! :-P We should really get to the bottom of this, SCOOBY STYLE!!!

I don't have a wide-band so i couldn't tell you, but overall, she runs better now than stock location. idle doesn't bog down as much and throttle seems more responsive.

bov is still loud, just not as piercing as it was on the cold side.

Ah ok, well I threw a p0171 a few days later for being too lean so if you don't then all must be well. I need to figure that out so I can run relocated since I already cut the pipe lol.

In other news, I'm about to buy a CX racing intercooler core to replace my Garrett. Some may think I'm crazy, but it's just too damn big and it was used on a 28rs at like.. 16psi I believe. Me on the other hand, stock turbo at 9ish psi. I think I would benefit from a smaller core, and I have heard good things about CX racing despite being on ebay. Plus my bumper could actually fit better! So for anybody interested in my Garrett core, it will up for sale before too long.

Ive seen some cx racing intercoolers they are nice. as far as intercoolers go, ebay is the bees knees! i bought my core of ebay and its PERFECT i absolutely love it. the only thing you need to watch for is some ebay cores are tube and fin... they are the poop. For me as long as its the right size, looks good, works, and is bar and fin, then im happy! :) im not completely worried about s*** like pressure dropping or how much tiny more horses i can get from having such and such different about my core or pipes. im not maxed at like 500HP looking to squeeze just a FEW more ponies. thats the only time i feel that matters.

I'm in sanford fl. The msp did great driving the 8 hour drive really well.

But in other news I got a $116 ticket for my exhaust being to loud. I didn't realize there was a law in fl but sadly I found out :'(

I did see the tube and fin, wasn't sure what that was all about. Thanks for the heads up. This is the one I'm probably getting.

Looks like a good drop in size for better fitment, but should still provide good performance.

Hey Valk, how does your car run with the relocated MAF? Any lean issues? I had a lean idle for some reason when I relocated, and it was about the same distance from the TB.

relocating ur maf doesn make ur idle lean.. Check ur egr and clean maf..

It was weird I agree, but since I tried relocating I have replaced the EGR with the CDM version and cleaned the MAF several times with the spray can you find at autozone and such. Maybe I'll try switching it again later today and see if it still goes lean.

its a theory, but the temp change shouldn't make a profound difference. I'm thinking it may be because the IC baffling changes the flow characteristics upon decompression whether the BOV is between the compressor and it, or on the other side of the compressor.

I have my bov on cold side n under normal drivin its very quiet.. Never really heard how it sounds on hotside tho

It cud also b ur iac.. I had a big idle jumpin/leanin issues n thats what it ended up bein after I cleaned dverydamn sensor lol

This looks very similar to the one that my buddy has, its nice. this will sit very nice in the bumper with no modification to the bumper support. My core is 7" and it fills the grill perfect. all i did was cut my bumper beam in half. like cut the bottom of the bumper beam to the flat in the middle. it gets rid of the 2'' of ugly bumper beam that is shown through the grill and fills it nicely with an intercooler. :) i can get pics to show you what i mean.

I completely understand what you mean. I think I'm going to put the grill insert back in so people won't notice the crash bar lol. I can't fit it with the core I have now because it's right up against the plastic tabs.

Cx has a 27x5.5x2.5 ive been lookin at. Price is right too might get after my extra pipes shiw up. I dobt want anything real big.

Just seafoamed my engine. I seem to be missing my upper left manifold bolt.
.

That's probably the source of your random P0171. Seems to be a very common issue with these cars having exhaust mani bolts missing, mine had four missing in total. ARP stud kits are about 100 from Cross Over auto.com and I went with a Fel-Pro triple layer exhaust mani gasket.

Thats plenty fmic for me. I want to put a water/air in too with a snall rad to niy heatsoak, But a big icebox for the track.

yea..nothing against those who have CX racing cores, but when my brother had extra parts laying around I threw his core on my car
and man, it was terrible, big difference in spool up, car felt a ton slower, so the quality of the core plays a big role
if you get a cx racing kit, at least just get the pipes and run a decent quality IC, theres a huge difference

What turbo were you running with it?
