What have you done to your MSP today?

when i ran that code for bank one too lean it was because of fuel cut, or basikly our ECU goes WTF STOP!!! whaa! fuel cut,. i ordered SSAFC, should fix my problem, hope this helps.

Cleaned the maf today. I actually had a 2nd maf in my garage. Cleaned it and threw it on. Car doesnt stumble anymore. Just some light hesitation.

Stealth - I bought the GM syncromesh from Autozone i think. It was 7-8 bucks a bottle. Took me two bottles. But i reccomend it to anyone. Good stuff.

ya I have an extra MAF in the garage, but I'm pretty sure my MAF is fine, just might need some cleaning, but just encase I might switch them out to see if it helps if the cleaning doesn't work.

ya, I was thinking it could be fuel cut, and that is when it really threw the CEL in the first place, but the car is iffy in idle, and just goes up and down sometimes and runs lean, like 15.6-16.7 on the wideband, before it was bad enough to be from 16.7-"--" on the wideband but it's not that bad after I reset it, gonna seafoam it now, and last night it was too cold and dark to do the MAF so I'm gonna do that right before I seafoam it.. I have an ssafc installed I just wasn't able to tune it because the car threw the CEL right when I was able to go out and tune, (litterarly, I went to get my car from the garage, went to my dorm room, picked up my comp. came back down, started the car, looked over and saw the CEL lol, I was like.. "oh wtf! why now..") but ill post any results after I do all this now, if it fixes the idle I can just tune the fuel cut and I'll be very happy that it is an easy fix for once :)

honeycombed side TOWARD the turbo (if on intake) or throttle body (if on cold pipe)

I have mine installed, and this is the way it has been like for the last year, and I didn't move it since stock and the honey comb side is on the filter side, and the arrow is also pointing toward the turbo(direction of airflow), but the actual honey combs are on the side going into the filter/fender
here is a pic of my first msp before I did the smic/cai/hardpipe install, everything is stock completely, and no one since then had touched it but the mechanics doing reg. maintenance at mazda since before I bought it.
(in this pic, the honeycomb is on the side towards the airbox)

seafoamed it and cleaned the MAF sensor than did a little heavy driving up and down an express highway, man there was a lot of smoke coming out the first time I put it in before shutting off the car!, wish I had filmed it again like last time, I didn't expect that much since I just seafoamed it last summer, filled up both sides of the yard with smoke when the wind shifted....

the idle now is a little better so far, no stumbling, it's a tiny bit high @ around 15.2-15.5 sometimes, if I have the fan on it's around 14.5ish but I think it's good, might just be a little lean due to cold air, and I think since I haven't really stepped on the gas too hard very much, and since I haven't had it at 10psi since last august I think the step colder spark plugs might have needed a little dusting off (glare)

I just ordered all new silicone couplings and T-bolt clamps to replace all the old ones in my intake plumbing. I'll see if this works. I did an inspection today and found my existing couplings to be very worn and cracked. I think that may be my problem. While driving today, I could swear I heard a whistling noise.

Dear GOD I hope it's only an intake plumbing leak that is the source of the code.
It a new and welcome experience for me to have a problem with such a simple and (relatively inexpensive) solution for once.

haha, ya that's what I keep thinking all along, I already have T-bolt clamps and good couplers, I re tightened them again today, and I just keep hoping that the problem isn't actually something big that is just being sneaky and playing with my head lol, like you said, would be nice for it to be so simple and solved without any major headaches and days of frustration (bang)

and ya stealthWyvern, it's funny to imagine how someone can screw up the install of the MAF, especially since the wires are hard to plug into the MAF if it's back words, would have to work to get them to fit somewhat, and with the arrow for airflow haha

BTW, everyone vote for MOTM, polls are open! it's a great month, lots of cool cars

I might get hell for this, painted the gtspec strut bar ends black today. I really didnt want to paint over the beautiful orange but it wouldnt work with my engine bay theme. Ill get pics up tomorrow hopefully.

Hit up a local install party today. I was the only protege there. :(

I imagine it can be installed upside down and backwards without issue! lmfao.

I will not paint the orange... but the blue drives me nuts. anybody else who wants to paint and orange GTSpec bar, I will pay for shipping of my vibrant to you, shipping of your GTSpec to me, and I'll toss in a kicker to be negotiated. LOL

just ran my first autox event 5 runs in was fun... looked at something leaking on my rear left tires... brake line leaking, also engine code p0717. but it was a Blast! average time (50s)
