What have you done to your MSP today?

So does that leave tar behind like dynamat? I've seen the result of somebody scraping the tar left from that s*** off of the trunk and it did not look pretty. Basically stripped the paint completely off.

it is not NEARLY as difficult to install as dynamat... and is not asphalt based, but... I can't understand a situation where you would want to remove sound deadening.... unless you are repurposing a daily driver with a nice stereo into a track car or something... what relivance does this question have to anything?

I removed all the stock sound deadener from my impulse a long time ago... noticed no benefit (weight was pretty irrelivant)... installing this stuff made a WORLD of difference acoustically speaking, and at .35 lb/ft, I probably added a total of 5 lbs to the trunk... less than the spare tire, jack, amp, sub, box, OR all the other random crap I have in there.

short version of answer: I don't intend to find out the answer to your question. lol

Well I can think of a situation. The car I saw that was all messed up from it was a Civic SI that was traded in at my work. Well I think it actually was a dealer trade or something but yea. Apparently the people who traded it to us neglected to inform us of the issue as well as some other things...(aftermarket speakers, residue and holes in the door jams from a body kit, somebody's initials that were PAINTED onto the fuel door, and some other stuff). But anyway I was wondering in case I were to ever run into a used car I was looking at purchasing and found that stuff still on it and decided I would rather have it removed.

if there is sound deadening on it... leave it. it makes the car sound SO much better. I don't even mean just stereo. the trunk makes a totally different sound when closed now. much more... solid, instead of hollow. I would pull the door cards off and do them too if it weren't such a pain in the ass. That'll wait til I upgrade to a good quality set of components up front. Honestly, for the 50 lbs that it costs you to do the whole car... WELL worth it. (and yes, I do plan to autoX the car next summer. so you can take this statement in context of a performance-minded driver, just not a track slut). daily drivability > hard core performance. that is my modding mantra.

LOL alright well I was just playing devils advocate.

I took a video of my catalytic exit exhaust! lol ******* dude who put my "custom" side exit exhaust on doesn't know his exhausts for being a mechanic. Thanks to him only putting one hanger to hold the section from the cat to the side exit, it vibrated itself into breaking off right at the cat. So now it's undercar exit. Sounds good IMO. I might keep it this way (I have to until my friend can fix it and that won't be until well into January). My buddy who is gonna fix it is not the same douchebag who ****** it up either.

For now, take a listen. If you read the "info" section, you'll notice I apologize for my nosey coworker talking at the end. Meh... what are coworkers for anyway?

not bad mr. goatee

^ dang, that sound mean!

Thanks guys. I thought so. With the exception of it shaking every ******* thing inside the car (my ashtray jingles with all the coins), I love it.

I only quoted my post so that those who hate to have to click back and forth between pages and can check it out. That is granted you just started a new page as I just had.

to wear while driving on the streets? that might get a few looks

no, but for real... all you gotta do is remove the cat-back... sounds like half hour job to me if you soak it down with a lil PB blaster beforehand.
