What have you done to your MSP today?

I stayed up late last night making a bracket for the MS3 seats I picked up. Passenger is done and I'll do the driver's side today if it doesn't rain. What a time consuming chore, but it came out nicely and way better than the TenzoR seats with the ghetto brackets that were on those. Turns out the seats weren't that bad but my gawd the brackets were built by a retard.

sweet. thanks. it is just a safety precaution right?

The pcv valve prevents oil blow by and all the seals in the bottom end from blowing out.

As combustion occurs some of your exhaust gas ends up in your crankcase. If this built up over time it would presurize the crank case and cause all kinds of problems. The pcv is a one way valve that allows these gasses to escape but doesn't let the engine draw in air from the intake manifold. The stock pcv is meant for a na protege and whereas it works its not meant to handle the extra presure from the turbo and can cause so oil burning as the pcv gets older. The millenia sc pcv is a great replacement and I have been told (never tried it as the millenia worked great for me) the honda s2000 pcv works well.

i need to do some maintenance work to my msp. i have squeaky belts, a very slow leak in the oil return line on the turbo, and a nail in my right rear tire.

is there a thread somewhere on basic msp maintenance? like when to start replacing stuff?

well it would be a good idea to replace all that s*** asap. belts aren't that big of a deal though.

What mileage are you at?

owner's manual includes a maintenance schedule.

timing belt needs to be done asap if it hasn't... might wanna look into exchanging every fluid in the car (depending when you did them), and doing a PCV valve.

I take it a highflow catted midpipe would make it loud enough? maybe I should drill holes in the muffler or cut out the top?
