Installed my grille, went out for a drive, and figured out why the car keeps wanting to overheat... Stupid greddy catch can is setup as an overflow for the radiator, but all this does is essentially drain the radiator when it gets to operating temperature. There was a similar thread about this somewhere on there with someone else that had the same problem. I thought i had serious head gasket issues, but thankfully its just my overflow setup. Guess i'm gonna buy a stock unit and cross one possible problem off my list.

Took the car out for a 9 mile jaunt. Blew some dust off her! What a blast to drive. Oh yea. Taking your front strut bar off the car makes it dig in the corners soooooo much more. Removing the GT Spec (and even the stocker) has increased the handing and turn in TONS. Don't believe me? Spend 5 minutes take yours off, and report back to me what ya think!

Anyone in here with a FMIC and the pipes not routed through the location where the SMIc was care to post pics of their hot pipe routing? I wanted to do it the same as I did the cold side, but uh yeah there's a big washer fluid reservoir in the way >_<

All the kits seem to route the piping where the SMIC was but I have the full-width radiator so no dice.

This is why I had my Weapon R catch can modified to make it work like the stock coolant reservoir. I paid more to have it plugged/buffed/re-welded then the actual cost of the can but it works.

Here's a pictures of what I did and the same one without my dumb ass drawing.

theres a nice pic from my autox yesterday, haha.

And daedalus, what i did with my weapon R tank was to just put a smaller "straw' tube if you will through the hole at the top, seal it up with some water pump/t-stat gasket maker, and make sure it reached to the bottom. That way it can dump overflow, AND draw it back in. I haven't had any overheating problems so far.

Diddo. I stole jmv's idea, since I got the same tank as him from Protege Garage. :D .. The sealant on my 'straw' is still curing at the moment. Gonna start working on fabricating that bracket. Only thing that kinda bothers me is that all of the metal pieces I found already had holes in 'em. I think it makes everything look cheaper. And stupid. Ah well. Work with what I've got, I guess!

Oh, and I washed my MSP for the first time in .. I don't even know how long. I always love the first 'post-winter' wash. Every time, I forget how gorgeous the paint really is underneath all that road salt residue! And the weather was SO amazing today -- it made me want to scream that I don't have my CF and rims back on. But I gotta wait till I get my tire situation worked out. Blargh!
