What have you done to your MSP today?

a hair dryer will probably take care of most of it, then just sand down where it creases, apply some bondo if uneven, sand and repaint. probably a days job but DYI-able

Super lost here guys. Friday night I was driving to my gfs house(Charlotte NC to Greer SC 2.5ish hours) and about half way there I start pegging lean(18+) so I let off. This is at cruising speeds. Started around 80mph but everytime it went lean I let off. By the time I was about to get off the next exit to stop and inspect, I was doin 50. It was horrible. Would just try cruising and bam lean. Well i stopped and I was about half way to my girls. Let the car sit for about 20 minutes. I looked around the engine bay and found nothing weird. So I started driving again. Didn't have the issue again. I didn't change anything.

Saturday I pulled my hot pipe off to clean all the oil(blown seals) and used some starter fluid to test for intake mani and injector orings leaking. Nothing. Found a vac nipple on the back that was cracked. Fixed that idle was better so i figured i fixed it.

Sunday evening driving home it hit lean 2 times and it was very brief.

Now anytime I hit boost it pegs rich. Like 10. I have no idea here guys.

Check and make sure your intake is on tight on the turbo and at the MAF.. If your MAF is relocated check at the throttle body and at the MAF.. Do a bosot leak test to a leak at the throttle body.

I will but like I said I sprayed intake Mani, throttle body, injectors, and most anything in that area with starter fluid while tthe car was idling and nothing happened. Idle didn't jump or anything. But as far as check engine lights I had 5 Thursday night when I ran them. Here they are

P0140
P0171
P2006
P0660
P0128

Maybe that will help...I erases them and the light came back on like a mile later.

*02 sensor circuit no activity

*Coolant thermostat, coolant is below regulating temps.

Ok so here are my questions. Do you have the butterflys removed or just open all the way? if just open all the way, then put them back to how they should be and your idle should get better. Next, do you have a low temp thermostat? Have you ever replaced your thermostat?

I have no butterflies at all. And no vac lines goin to the modules for them either. They are just plugged into the wiring harness and chilling. And I replaced the thermostat with one from advance" that was the right one's but we know how that goes. I only replaced it cause I changed my radiator so I figured wth. The one I pulled out looked fine. I may put it back in....

Oh and my maf is relocated btw if that helps. And I have no intake. Just a k&n filter on the turbo.

when I had a very slight boost leak in the PVC hoses that go into the intake mani, it caused it to run like that, and ended up fouling up the spark plugs really fast... so check, and mine as well just change them while your at it, there cheap and that is what fixed mine along with fixing the boost leak.

and I assume there are no CEL codes? (edit: haha, woops, completely ignored all the codes you put up)

go to autozone and get them to read exactly what they are one I think is the bank too lean, and I am guess another is maybe a misfire in one or more cyl. but there must be one that is from the boost leak before you fixed it, but go to autozone and just get them to print out all the codes for you so it's more specific, but get some new plugs while your at it.. like I said, the boost leak making it run real lean(and I think when it's super rich like when it misfires, it will show up lean on the afr, even though it's super super rich) and then retardedly rich, it will kill your plugs

I did notice a little oil around the gasket for the pcv valve. Do they sell that piece? And as far as spark plugs go, im also driving on a turbo with blown seals so im sure that's not helping

oh didn't even realize that those are what they all meant lol, woops, I just thought he was listing off possible things it could be, my head is somwhere else today...

well there will be a little oil, I just had to re-zip tie my lines going to the pvc and to the intake mani because one had broke and partially slipped off, but now that I am thinking about it, I remember having a similar problem last year or something, where I was getting codes for bank too lean and the valves being stuck, or maybe it was 2 years ago when I still had the stock intake mani, but I think I remember the problem actually had to do with something generally un-related as far as the intake mani goes.... um

check your primary O2 sensor make sure it's not fried, I wanna say you should check all of those little sensors in the back near the TB... I would also completely clean out the EGR, that might be it if it was as bad as mine was, I just bought some little wire brush things that I could stick into the egr openings when I took it off, and soaked it with EGR cleaner and just kept scrubbing/cleaning/and letting it sit with the cleaner in there to soak some of that crap out.. start off with that and I will try to think about what my problem was when those similar things happened to me a while back

oh and they sell the PVC valve, a ms miatia one would be a good thing to get regardless from PG because it's actually made for the turbo cars, but the actually black little gasket/grommet thing I doubt it, I think you would have to take the valve cover off anyways to really get at it

how would i check all my sensors around the throttle body? and the primary o2 sensor is new as of 3 months ago. and i was talking about the little grommet. also i replaced my pcv a while back with a milly s one. ive never heard of the msm pcv being used

oh ya, forgot which PVC it was, but I just mean check to make sure they are all plugged in correctly and everything, I am sure you have done it already, but if you haven't then just double check, but since you just have the new O2 sensor, and short of fixing the turbo gaskets also, I would really just clean out the EGR valve really well, I think that is what mine was when I was getting those codes, I had all of them but the thermostat one

ok cool. well ill be replacing the turbo in the upcoming week and new spark plugs. ill clean the egr out while im in there i guess. whats the best fluid to clean it out? like to break down the crust?

^^ that will work, but I would just buy a can of actual Carb cleaner and they should have actual EGR cleaner at autozone, but I would make sure it's really cleaned out, I used almost the whole can and scrubbed it really well with the wire brush things I got from Lowes/Home Depot, they are like $1.5 a piece or something they look like this so you know what I am talking about, just need the small ones to make sure they fit inside the holes
