What have you done to your MSP today?

^^ what do you mean? 6000ks are brighter than 8000ks it's the really bright white 4500k-6000k ones that are really bright,(although once you get into the yellows than that's the same thing as the blues, there bright but not as bright as the whites) over than and they slightly loose light power for a blue color, not by much though.. I haven't gotten any tickets and since I re-aimed my lights and put the eyelids on, I rarely get flashed now too, when they were aimed badly I got flashed all the time but I didn't know then

then again it depends on the cops you have around, so far I have made it to ohio, and all around ct and parts of NY with no tickets and I have illegal tint too, and my license plate is in my front windshield, but I refuse to put holes in my front bumper until I get a ticket.. and even then it is still visible from 50ft on all sides in the front so really it's not technically illegal, but some cops are dicks

ya I had pulled my reflector shields out of mine because there was were blind spots and it didn't reflect anything on the ground in front of me, little did I know that was mainly because my HIDs weren't aimed correctly, and were blinding people anyways, so I aimed them down, and got eyelids to compensate for the removal of the shields, the 8000k are still really bright and have a hint of blue that you can see, the 6000ks I have in my fogs and they are much brighter and don't really show any blue, but are not completely white, you should be more than happy/fine with the 8000ks the 10000ks are the ones that actually look straight blue but also don't have as much light power, overall they are all pretty bright but just make sure you adjust your lights after you install the HIDs, I just went to a flat road or parking lot and adjusted them on the wall so they were straight but not blinding people's faces, no matter what they are a million times better than bad stocks, if I had the money to throw around I'd buy them for parents cars lol and my winter beater

also prob. one of my favorite parts of having 8000k hids headlights is being able to see the slightly blue reflection off of every reflector and sign on the highway and roads from a good distance lol, it just turns everything that has reflectors on them slightly blue and lights them up hah, it's great

the eyelids will do nothing for glare, seeing as they're on the OPPOSITE side of the headlight from where the glare is coming from. Personally I wouldn't go over 6K... thats what I have and whats in my fiance's jeep (the reflector in her headlight is WAY better for HIDs than ours BTW) and even that is too blue for me sometimes.

I've never been flashed with my HIDs in.

Its not the brightness that gets u popped, its the color. White headlights are normal and don't catch attention but when you start getting pure blue and purple s****, you are asking for it in CA.

^^ (to wagons comment, im too slow posting i guess)well it's hard to describe but there is a dark spot where cars usually are, the reflection from the HID hits the reflectors on the bottom and bounce up, granted the area about, like up in the trees are lit up, but after putting the eyelids on, there is a darker spot, + my lights are pointed pretty far down, so if I am about 20ft from a car on a flat surface, it is pointed towards their bumper... and I dono I love the blue, the 6000k fogs I have were not blue enough for me, and I can see more than I ever could with stockers in, and also having really good vision doesn't hurt so I can't complain but just personal preference

Everything I've read, says that anything above 5000k/6000k, you lose light output (still better than stock probly tho, until like 12000k).

Yellow (3000k) has the most usable light output of any heat range...

ohhh, hmm, I guess in ct and around here there are a lot of factory "luxury" cars with xenons with a bluer tinge to them than there use to be, I would say closer to the 6000k range than 8000k but I also think that there are so many other cars around with blueish lights that the cops have plenty to worry about and get money from speeding tickets and other things rather than other violations like that... hm, maybe I will have to get a set of 6000k HIDs for when I drive across country at the end of oct (was going to be at the end of the summer, but I have to many things to do and need more time to work for money lol)

edit: and ya ucMP3, when I first bought mine from Protephile he said he didn't carry anything above 8000k because even the 10000k were not as powerful, I have seen people with those in and they are less bright, so I wouldn't really put anything about 8000k in my headlights, but the fogs, if I didn't already have 6000k, I might try out the 10000k ones just because I don't really use them for any visual needs, but there is not much of a difference in being able to see things between 6000k and 8000k personally, and when I switch to the normal high beam lights (I wish I had duel xenons but oh well), it is crap lol so I just don't use them

here in central texas, I have seen many different varieties of HIDs and out of most that I have talked to, they haven't had any trouble from the cops. Hell, there is a lot that the cops "let slide" around here.

edit: HIDs just got here!!! Will be putting them in shortly

So I finally got around to do the final touches on My FS-ZE swap.

Problem 1 was the trigger wheel for the crank sensor. JDM uses only 4 tooth while USDM uses 36 tooth. So I had to press out an original trigger wheel from a crank pulley, and modify it to fit a medieval pulley. Here are the results:

Next up was mating the USDM wiring harness to the JDM ECU that I just picked up. So I went out and got one of those AEM Adapter harnesses, I also found PCM test harnesses from Ford and cut those up also. I wired in the harnesse for the shift improver and for the J&S Safeguard and this is what came out of it all:

What is this shift improver that you speak of?

whatever. id drive the s*** out of an fsze auto as a DD ha ha

I have a mazdaspeed shift knob, lol...

I live right in the city, so let me tell you, in traffic it's a godsend. And when I miss stick, I just go home and take the other MSP out...

ha ha. i know man.

its funny though. knowing what i know about these cars now and having got my feet wet ect, id probably have kept my auto p5 and just built it up.
but i guess there is the uniqueness factor and stuff.

still, there is something to be said for not driving and arrest me yellow car lol.
