What have you done to your MS3 today?

^that is solid advice. saving for the baby has kept me from modding much lately. might have to find some cost effective upgrades. thanks

no build thread. intake, inlet pipe, engine mount, suspension, bpv, short shifter, shift bushings, redline leather, stereo and dynamat, exterior crap.. might have missed a couple. it was always meant to be a daily driver, nothing too radical, just a fun a->b ride. i'm thinking the practical 'James May' in me is trying to come out

Pump internals and a downpipe possibly? I bought the ebay downpipe and I'm very pleased. PTP pump internals were on sale for $300 on PG. Got em in a couple days. Quite a bit of money though. I'm sure there are other worthwhile mods on the cheap though.

downpipe! best mod ever! picked up TurboXS Stealthback (downpipe and mid pipe) on ebay used $100 shipped. no CEL. and just raw powa, exhaust tone!

Pump internals are a must. At almost any power level. They're not that expensive and they provide the insurance that you won't lean out under increased loads.

Love the car, but its getting stale..

I hear you buddy. The Golf R is screaming at me. If it were not for my job situation, I'd be all over it.

Modding helps the itch. Something with the exhaust would be my bet for an upgrade. The change in performance AND sound should appease you for a while. I chose to do the test pipe instead of the downpipe. Easier to do and I pass all emissions tests.

I did love the idea of the Golf R, but I have conceed and agree with everyone else ...they're way overpriced. Way, way, way overpriced. And that DSG gearbox doesn't have a flawless record of not breaking.

Ugh...i miss my car so bad. driving a 2002 sunfire BLOWS.

on top of that, my wife comes at me with these outlandish comments like "why dont the outside lights flash EVERY time i unlock the car?". wtf?! The car doesnt pick and choose as it pleases. if you locked the car it will flash when you unlock it. if it doesnt flash that means you didnt ******* lock it in the first place!

and i drove it real quick tonight and i swear the alignment is off.

everyone is saying get hard parts get a fuel pump and a tune, fastest way to 50 extra horses with minimal wrenching required

The Golf R has a 6 MT. It is overpriced and somewhat underpowered.

I used to have an Audi TT 225. I just liked the way that car drove. Fast without drama. No wheel hop, no tire spinning. I always liked the R32s but thought they were nose heavy and severely overpriced. I think the Golf R is a nice compromise.

That said, ANY new car is out of my price range at the moment.

Hit 90,000 miles on the way to work today... and narrowly avoiding hitting a construction barrel in the middle of the fast lane.

...let my buddy Will drive mine to Cortland for finals this morning because we were wrenchin' on his and everything was fighting us. ******* rust welded everything together. ABS sensor broke. (Trying to do a right rear WB) ******* snap ring was rusted SOLID in the knuckle. ****. Ended up going to bed this morning @ 2:30. I am ******* FREAKING out that someone else is driving my car right now. Losing my s***.

... been 4 years...) Love the car, but its getting stale.. Tips or motivation?
Almost four years for me as well. I still love it - no plans to trade, since there's nothing in a similar price range that comes close. It still manages to bring a grin every time I drive it.
