What have you done to your MS3 today?

as soon as i saw what sport6 did i went to work, at work actually. at my disposal i had a sawzall, drill press, taps, vise, all the stuff i needed to make that thing. and i did...

and i was thinking of maybe using this plate

and i also have a pic of the mat i cut for the trunk area...

Looks good! I started on mine as well after seeing Zach's but I want to find a bolt instead of using the actual towhook. Any idea on what size and stuff that bolt would be?

It's an M16 and ill have to get back to you on the thread pitch. I originally bought coupling nuts and was going to buy a threaded rod to make this buttttt I couldn't find anything that wasn't super expensive... Soo I gave up and cut the tow hook.

And I need to know how you made that trunk mat. I need one so bad!

CX fmic?? I have the same kit that is getting installed this saturday, whoop whoop!!! How does that by pass valve perform and how does it sound? I am going to give it a whirl with my kit this weekend to see how it is. I had a type s knock off before and I enjoyed the sound, but I ended up breaking the adjustment screw so I just tossed the damn thing, lol.

tried installing a test pipe today but one of the bolts won't come out. gyyyaaaaaaaaaaarrgh! going to buy the biggest vice grips i can find tomorrow and rip the damn thing out...

got some pics taken of my car! one is in the black hatchbacks thread...(yippy)

mm boost - you can see my car with the springs on!

yessir, had the same issue. Torque Wrench FTW, or PB blaster

No more TMIC OR Forge BPV? You've changed man... CHANGED.

Lol... looks good. PG kit?-

correct. Decided not to have fail in Vegas. CXracing FMIC with NGR Type-S BPV

Yessir. This BPV is way better than any other knockoff. It still is a knock off, but has actually one-up'd the original greddy design with a stronger Diaphragm and can hold up to 30 psi. I actually love the sound. Sounds kinda close to a HKS SSQV. I tuned mine with just sound alone. Tuning out the flutter.

I did have some issues with the hotpipe coming off, but that was because I didnt use the clamp that came with the kit. Its 2'' clamp and i had a hell of a time getting it on there. So now everything is cool. Word of advice, make sure everything is lined up perfect before tightening and I also bought a 2''-2.5'' 45 degree reducer for off the turbo. The angle of the straight one from is the kit makes me a lil nervous so i said screw it. And I also bought some cooling reflective tape to wrap the hope pipe in. Gonna hook that up this weekend.

The mat was part of a kit from khols and it came with an led flashlight and emergency blanket. The mat itself is very easy to cut, I used scissors. All I did was take the regular stiff floor mat out and trace the shape around the rubber piece with a silver sharpie, and from there it was shaving a little at a time to get the final shape. I also cut a "+" sign for the string to go througth the rubber mat as well.

Wifey got it for $20 on sale

wait...so is this the same bpv that comes with the kit or did you buy it separate??

Thanks for the tip btw, I am excited to get it installed.

Sweet thanks, I am going to check out Kohls in my area to see if there is something like that.

Yesterday got a cel, went to autozone to pull the code (god I need my own obdII device). It was an evap device code. Immediately I thought of the gas cap, but I refused to believ I could have made a rookie mistake like that, espcially since I hadn't touched it since I filled it up days ago.

Well the 18-year-old autozone employee of the month told me to check it anyway, and I really did manage to somehow not tighten it back up last time I filled it. Reset the battery, no light since, and hopefully there won't be

And what sucks is I guess those guys arentallowed to erase codes, even if you fix the problem. Disconnecting the battery won't erase some stored codes. That makes me want my own device even more. They had a generic scan tool for like $250.

Should I get that one and be able to use it on my other vehicle or get a hypertech (what I really want) for my car only?

Seeing all these pics of cars with plates having off the side of their face makes me VERY glad that I live in a no-front-plate state.

Nothing against you guys of course. You are doing the best you can with what the law requires, but I still can't stand the look of a plate on the front.

Indiana! Woo! (headbang)

I also live in a front plateless state (delaware)...I just want to throw something up front for shitzngiggles. I'm doing the towplate so I don't have to drill

Thats a crock...my mom had an engine light on and restricted performance on her jaguar for months, we finally found out that a vac hose had a huge gaping hole in it. Went to advanced, they fixed the hose for free and scanned the ecu to check the light...that was indeed the reason and he cleared the code for her....for free.

I wouldn't get a generic one, and if you spend that much maybe consider the dashhawk. Which can be used on a lot of different vehicles. If you get a generic one they make ones that are a lot less expensive.

Can the hypertech scan and erase codes?

Can the hypertech scan and erase codes?

Yes. But unlike the dashhawk it doesn't show live parameters. Although it does boost performance unlike the dh

I'm at a point where I want a boost in performance, but I'm not interested in any more equipment to install, hence the hypertech. The ap is good for multiple maps and custom tuning, but I don't need all that. The hypertech is good for me and my mscai, and code reader/clearer (god forbid)

Althought I like doing my own maintenance so a generic reader would help out because I have a new dodge ram as well, so the vehicle specific device like a cobb or maybe the hypertech probably won't be good for me.

So I'm kinda stuck between reading/erasing, monitoring, adding performance...and only the dough to do one
