What have you done to your MS3 today?

Should I get that one and be able to use it on my other vehicle or get a hypertech (what I really want) for my car only?

Get a Dashhawk. I do believe they clear codes off of different cars, and you can get a nice mount to put the DH in your speed.

Another route I can take is to get a $50 or so bluetooth obdII transmitter, and a $3 app for my motorola droid and I can scan and erase codes, and it allows for some live parameters like mpg, boost, etc

I've been researching the OBD II bluetooth or wifi dongle thing. I have an iPhone, and it looks like the apps I have seen on there require the wifi OBD II transmitter, which from what I've seen is about $150. For that price I might as well get a used dashhawk.

Bluetooth OBD II dongles are about $26 on ebay, although they look really cheap.

wait...so is this the same bpv that comes with the kit or did you buy it separate??

Thanks for the tip btw, I am excited to get it installed.

Its the same BPV that comes with the kit. Its really nice (wiggle)

Oh.. and another thing, with that BPV, leave the bottom nipple uncapped.

wtf, I didn't know it was the NGR type-s! How did you find this out? I thought it was just an unmarked random type-s knockoff!? Badass. Can you get some video clips? And what is the reason for leaving it uncapped?

Thanks!

I guess it needs to know what atomospheric pressure is so it can differentiate between the 2.

I dont have any clips, but there are a few on youtube that are installed on eclipses and its sounds the same.

so how did you find out for sure it is a NGR type s?? I kept hearing that it was just a cheap universal bpv that was thrown in with the kit?

Can't wait for saturday!! how does the performance feel? Any difference in comparison to the TMIC? I sold my S.U. tmic to get my cx, so you should be able to relate.

I think I was reading somewhere on the DSM forums. Another big giveaway is the top adjustment screw on a bad knockoff wont have the o-ring whereas this one does.

I was able to take some datalogs. With the crazy heat here my KR is still high in the 3's during WOT around 4500-5400.. my BAT's are about 10-20 cooler than the ETS TMIC i had, not as good as i would like, but not bad tho. Cruising @ night.. BAT's are 130's. Daytime, 150's vs the 140-160's. Keep in mind road temps out here scorch over 150+ and amb air is around 114 on avg. But.. @ WOT, the BATS drop down pretty quick.

I just ordered some reflective tape to wrap the hotpipe on top of the motor and a 2-2.5'' reducer 45 degree coupler for the outlet on the turbo. Hopefully this allows it to fit better and create less air turbulence out of the turbo. YMMV.

I just got in and opened up the box that the bpv was in that came with the kit, and you weren't lying, that thing looks very high quality, I was impressed!!! I can't wait to get it on saturday.

Oh, and my CP-E tow hook license plate kit arrived today. Got the last one in stock at Street Unit :D

failed at installing a test pipe. couldn't get the last bolt off of the stock cat to save my life. tried everything short of putting a grenade under my car... which i highly considered.

Or you could take it to an exhaust shop and ask them to loosen it for you a bit. Might have a small leak on the way home, but at least it will come off. haha

don't have a torch, might be time to get one. problem is once the nut comes off the spring end of the bolt there is nothing left to grab on to. it's just a stud with threads on each end. used loads of liquid wrench and every combination of tools i could imagine including 10" vice grips. i was getting a huge amount of torque on the stud and it still wouldn't move. was thinking of just driving the car to heat up the exhaust then trying again...
