What have you done to your MS3 today?

ive had alot of those "why the hell would mazda make this so tight?!?!?!" moments and the impact wrench is a good idea, but if that fails... break it loose with a regular wrench and a pry bar to really get some torque on it. i would advise getting a friend to help too to make sure the wrench stays on the head of the bolt. just my $0.02(whistle)

But sometimes its the brute force that shears the bolt or strips the head. Impacting it gives the bolt multiple shocks to sort of vibrate the rust free

as far as what ive done to my ms3...ive been monitoring the response of the car to the reworked PG turbo combined with my pro tune that i had before and it actually is working well. id like to take it back this fall to get it tweaked to make it perfect but for right now im going bike shopping at the local triumph dealer and may be coming home with a daytona 675 or a speed triple(thumb) ill post a video on youtube later showing my car driving with the new setup so that you can hear the combination of full bolt ons, reworked turbo, and true catless resonatorless straight pipe TBE. and BTW... the reworked turbo completely eliminated my boost creep issue.

Just got the oil changed and tires rotated; tech told me I've got a bubble in one of the tires. Time to drop $500-$600 on new tires. Since I don't have time to order online and wait for them to get here, gotta go for what they have locally.....looking at Nitto 850's or 555's. (gah)

Are there any online places with outlets near you? Ground shipping from Tire Rack gets to me overnight. Might be worth a look anyway.

Yeah, but by the time I pay for shipping and installation by another shop, it'll equal what I pay at a local place. So I'm better off going local. Went with the 555's also. Any comments on how they are?

Passed a fellow 3 on the highway, got a thumbs up, always a good feeling!

Same thing happened to me, it is a good feeling!

Taking my MS3 to a cruise this evening, then to my friends place to slice up some e30 BMW 325IS frames.

changing oil, installing cp-e tow hook license plate kit, bigdaddiesgarage CEL eliminator, and CX FMIC along with the NGR type-s bpv and running all new vac lines/boost T. :D

Bought the jdm axela rainguards the other week from jdmgoodie finally, and installed them yesterday. Love how they look.

Driving to work this evening, I noticed that the sticker on my windshield from my oil change today says that Midas used 5w20! This is after I told the tech I wanted 5w40!! WTF man!!

And perhaps its just sheer coincidence (at least I'm hoping), but my CEL came on about 25 miles after the oil change (which I just realized could be from the dashhawk). I did some reading and have yet to find any evidence that this particular weight is bad for the car; but it doesn't appear to be the best either. Can anybody explain this to me?

Either way, I'm done having it done at a shop. They **** it up every single time.

That's why you do it yourself.
Swap it out when you get the chance... 5w-20 can be used in a pinch, but really is too thin a weight for our turbo set up. 5w-30 works very nice... I think many say that if you're willing: 5w-40 is optimal. That's what I'm putting in next change.
I don't believe you can get a CEL from a DH. Be sure to read it and see what it's for. Then look up the code online to diagnose the issue.

That's what drove me nuts....I TOLD the guy I wanted 5w-40. And I still got 5w-20. So tomorrow I'm taking it back and making them change it again.....to the 5w-40 I asked for. Then I'll start changing it on my own.

Yeah, under normal conditions, you're right, a DH won't trigger a CEL. But check out my DH thread and you'll see why this isn't under normal conditions. LOL. I tried to read the code and my DH is all jacked up and won't even read the vin....thus I can't read the code.

funny thing is the guy you told to put in the 40 probably passed it through 5 other guys before it got to the actual person who took the drain plug off, and placed the funnel into the oil fill to quench your engine's thirst

like back in the day when you played the "pass it on" game in elementary school

"the teachers will crack any minute purple monkey dishwasher" in the great words of the simpsons
