What have you done to your MS3 today?

Very pleased to hear of your results Mid.
Thank you. I seriously am more delighted with the changes to the handling with every mile I drive it.

No need to turn up boost. Start thinking bigger turbo with more flow and tuning.

I'm looking at bumping up the boost a little simply because it is short money to do so. I obtained a Forge boost controller for free so all I need to do is buy either a clamp or a BCD. As I said, short money. If I had the money, the first thing I would do is replace the downpipe and put in a free flowing IC. I'm not stating a preference to FM or TM because I do not want to start that debate in here (that horse has been flogged not just to death but into ribbons that a starving dog would turn its nose up at). From everything I have learned reading other poster's adventures, the factory turbo has more to give if we let it breathe. Upgrading the turbo is for people who have done all that other stuff and are at max air movement. For that matter, if I had the money I would wait for Cobb to come out with a 93 octane map and buy an Accessport.

ordered MT90 tranny gear oil.

One of my next investments. High grade synthetic for the tranny. I might also do Rotus's free short shift mod. I like that not only because it won't screw with the shifter height, which is perfect for me, but also because it doesn't change the side to side throw.

Got my oil changed and was informed that my front brake pads have a little more than half life left :( Is this normal @17k miles? I mean I really don't think I brake excessively and engine brake when ever possible.

installed my cat back to finish up my exhaust, 96 days to get my catback 1 hour to install. upgraded my maps on my AP to v1.01

Installed a bluetooth kit on the ms3 on saturday. it was the parrot 3200 with the colored lcd. the install took about 2hrs. love that bluetooth especially if your car is a manual. it automatically answers the phone and hangs up the phone to. i bought the harness at quickconnect.com for $54.00 that way i don't have to be guessing which wire is which. it was all plug and play.

Took it down the dealer to get it looked at (or at least set up a time to get it looked at). Thinking I might have some issues with the turbo going on.

mt

ordered a cobb sway and MT90 tranny gear oil.

Shows it will be here tomorrow! 24 hours!
the tranny fluid. I did same awhile back. Had ground third a couple times early on and felt I should do it. First day, really nothing to mention. On the way home from work second day [50miles]I noticed the shift motion was different. slippery I suppose. It is very much changed from stock. And I took the long way home

side moldings removed and silverstar turn signals

my cobb intake and shifter bushings came while i was at lunch. tonight im goin to get my car on the dyno stock, then dyno after the intake. i will try to post the dyno graphs.

oil change, resprayed valve cover and exhaust manifold, dropped and resealed oil pan, hardwired v1 radar, calibrating truboost boost controller, fixed random rattle.

next is the windshield rattle i think. i haven't decided if thats what the other one is or not.

Presents!

Thanks, for the effort and cost of dynoing for us, i mean you. Getting the baseline is the most important step. Good luck and good fun where will you post results?

so i just got back from getting the car dynoed. the dyno wasnt recording tq when i did it but i got 238hp all stock. i never got to dyno after the cobb install. im gonna wait till they get the tq thing figured out then redyno with the cobb results. i will post the dyno sheet tomorrow, its too late right now.

Cobb SRI installed. First thing I've noticed is it's more willing to rev to 5,500 and up. Someone educate me, please. What is the "whoosh" when I back off the throttle? I presume it was always there, just buried by the stock air box.

When you let off the throttle would be your bypass valve releasing the pressure back into the intake tract. On throttle is the turbo spooling. Enjoy.

Washed the Speed3 today, and thought more about ordering an SRI and an Accessport.

This is my third weekend having it. I waxed it each of the first two weekends and wanted to today, but didn't have the time and there was too much rain.

Got the V1 and concealer display hardwired. Would of washed it but the rain owned me.

On a side note I think one of my favorite quotes from my brother who helped me with the install. "Damn Mazda and its non crappy fit and finish!" Turns out wasn't as easy to conceal some of the cable as in his G35.

BC coilovers installed. Damn, the stock fronts were a b**** to remove. Luckily I had a lift and some power tools at my disposal. Installed the SU mount 2 weeks ago. That's it for now.
