What have you done to your MS3 today?

This afternoon I instaled a Stebel Nautilus air horn. It's great! Those damn phone talkin', TV watchn', daydreamin' road boulders are gonna hear from me!

The stocker was weak. I replaced with a pair of Hellas which were better, but faded out (one was half full of water it turns out). Now, I'm going to be noticed.

The install was a bit of a pain as the thing draws 20 Amps. The circuit for the stock horn only gives 15, and the wire is too small for 20. I had to run some 14 gage wire from the fuse panel and add a relay. I also needed to fabricate a bracket to hold the horn and the relay, but I got it all locked down and sanitary.

I cleaned up my TIMC installation. Cleaned up some of the grubby metal. Trimmed 1/4" from the back of the plate to avoid hitting the plastic at the back of the engine bay. Added some weatherstripping to fill the gap between the cooler core and the plate; I don't see losing some of my precious cooling air through the gaps when it could be going through the core. Added Mazdaspeed logo.

Very nice... I could take that right to the dealer with that logo... How'd you do that?

It's a vinyl transfer I bought off eBay.

Done. I'm headed there now. Did you ever purchase the Laser diffusion for your 9500i? From the pics it looks like the same power cord as my 8500x50.

Even if I'm not planning to do this, and why would I? Here in this part 'o' Texas we usually have <5 days of sub-30's weather a year. None the less, I always enjoy reading your How-To's. They're always well written and informative, and would love to see you post one.
Just be sure to post a link on this page so we can all find it easily.

+1 on the How-To!

Done. http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3140968#post3140968

Nice...but

I just installed heated mirrors on my Speed. This wasn't an available option, but the parts are available from OnlineMazda. I need to park outside and I like to be able to see behind me pulling out of my driveway into the highway.

The installation is pretty simple, but I took pictures and can post a How-To if you guys want it. The only real complication is the mirrors I got are painted Black Mica and my car is Cosmic Blue. The black actually looks pretty good on my car, but I decided to exchange the shells to keep the (mostly) monochrome look. This swap is a bit tricky to avoid breaking off the tabs holding it together.

Edit: How To created here: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3140968#post3140968

How do you turn them on /off? Are they wired into the rear defrost switch?

Today I installed a pre-filter on my MS CAI. The main reason is that I live on a dirt road and this may slightly increase the frequency of full filter washing I have to do. I'll look at it in a month or so and see how much has accumulated.

I installed a Simota CF SRI :-) This is the first major installation into a car I've ever done... well I guess some wouldn't consider it major but baby steps! Anyway I learned a lot and had a great deal of fun. I need to trim the tubing it came with so I don't coil it around the rubber elbow but other than that I think I did good. (No CEL *knock on wood!*)

Great sound and noticeable performance difference! Didn't expect to notice it as much as I did. :-)

Congrats and welcome fellow Philadephian! I'm from the Allentown/Beth/Easton area originally myself.
Good job first timer. Keep it up!!

Installed Rear Reflector Tints from Rockblocker. Looks good, but I must complain to Rockblocker, it is not a 100% fit. Not sure what the reason may be for that.

PS: I posted lots of pics, since I KNOW that everyone on here loves pics!! (eekdance)

I did the epoxy in the shifter bolt reservoirs.
Cost me $6.99 and It feels like a new car.
It's amazing how some glue can make it feel so much more refined.

I upgraded the OEM rubber yesterday to the General Exclaim UHP to compliment the spring/strut upgrades I did last year.

Now I can't wait to test 'em out!

I installed new pedals, added a sharkfin antenna (actually this was done a bit ago), and removed the side molding plus relocated the 2.3 badge to the trunk. I put it on the passenger side opposite the Mazda 3 badge. Looks pretty sharp there and my sides are clean as a whistle!

Oh ya and I washed it (cabpatch)

Whats up everyone> I;m a new guy here so you'll have to fill me in on the good stuff. Some stuff about me... '07 speed 3 owner and soon to be '07 speed 3 tuner. Its blue mica, and it will soon be upgraded with the latest from CPE and i hear they are coming out with a racing chip that gets you from stock to 320 hp to the wheels. Havent heard a date on that yet but i'll try to keep it posted.
