Well, then, time for a few pics and an avatar update isn't it??
I take it this had something to do w/that lil' accident you were involved in?

Congrats Man!!
Now, let's SEE it!!

yes it had just a little to do with it. I had been bitte by the bug a few months back; i had looked for a new ride back in september but it didnt make financial sense.

I will have some pics sometime soon and a review as well.

I took the side mouldings off and gave the areas a nice wash and wax. Took the adhesive badges off the sides and back but left the ones bolted in for another day. I'll post more pics when I get it just the way I like it.

Just got back from the install of Mazdaspeed CAI. Love the way it sounds and how you can hear the turbo spooling clearly.

Sig has links to pictures including install and final results.

Well, not exactly today...but recently...

I've been working on my system, still waiting on my front components though, so its not done until I purchase those.

I bought a Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.2 processor. WOW.

Here's pics:

Worth mentioning that installing this was the backup plan. The initial plan was to break open the factory radio, get into the circuit board, and modify the outputs for a flat signal w/ RCA pigtails. I had a schematic and pictures of a Mazda6 radio that some really smart guy did, and I felt that the radios were similar enough. NOT true. Turns out the radios for at least the '07 model are not close at all. So, after tearing the whole thing apart, removing maybe 60 screws, and getting VERY deep in the circuit board (parts were soldered off), I decided to give up, and put it all back together, stock. I managed to pull it off, and restored it completely. That might be a first for me.

Then, after about an hour of rocking and celebrating a nearly complete system, my amp failed, so I tore that apart to see what happened, only to find no trace of failure:

Here's some of the goodies in the car:

Here's two pics of the fiberglass box that holds the massive sub:

Here's a pic of the progress so far. What I haven't taken pics of yet is the padded suede covers I've fabricated for this. That will come tomorrow, hopefully.

Oh, almost forgot...my MS3 got tagged in the ass by a cab. Did super minimal damage, but scuffed the hell out of the bumper, and bent my license plate. I was amazed by the lack of damage despite the ferocity of the impact. I'd show pics, but its so minor, it wouldn't even show up, I bet. Still, I do get paid for a new bumper, and my inconvenience, so that all makes up for the B.S.

I think thats enough for now.

(bow) Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.2 processor.....DR0000000L!

Hmmm, that's where I plan on putting my 4ch amp. fourthmeal, do you think it'd be a pain to the 3sixty.1 or 2 in the glove box?

Great stuff so far, I'm looking forward to more pics!!!

The glove box would fit it, but then you'd have no glovebox. I was actually going to install it on the front door inside, but then realized THE DAMN THING IS FULLY BLUETOOTH, why the hell am I worried about being able to reach it?? Logic then dictated that the under-seat install would be the shortest route for the wires, and still be clean. I installed it very carefully:

There is a slightly oversized piece of 3/4" MDF wood sitting under the carpet (under the seat). On the side that contacts the floorboard, there is a sandwich layer of Raamat, and Ensolite, to quell any vibrations, etc. Then, the carpet. Above that, there is a 1/4" MDF board, which is detailed with black PVC vinyl, and Raamat/Ensolite contacting the carpet. Then, the processor is screwed down into both, creating a locking sandwich between the carpet. Simple, clean, and out of the way.

Oh, in other news, my REPLACEMENT amp just died! Same testing song, same damn exact spot in the song! Oh man, I was pissed. Here's some pics of the nearly complete job. As you can see, the amp is integrated right into the setup. Now that I have to replace the amp again (and Overstock is absolutely giving me my money back, no chance in hell of a replacement again), I have to rebuild another amp beauty board, this time to fit other amps. The material you see is synthetic black suede, padded with headliner underneath.

Be mindful that this is a mock-up, and not yet complete. When complete, the panels will flush up better, and nothing will be visible under the panels (they will be black) Also, keep in mind that the pictures are with a flash, so the vinyl looks discolored (its jet black), and the flash accentuates edges. In reality, it looks so dark and plain (my plan), that you have to almost do a double take to see a system in there.

thanks bud! We'll see what happens when that amp is ripped out, and replaced with something more functional then a doorstop. I'm going w/ a pair of Pioneer Premier amps. We'll see...

took the day off and installed awr rear motor mount, aluminum shifter bushings, cpe cai, ets 3.25 tmic. whole new car!!

I finally went slightly above the speed limit for the break in period while racing a rsx-s. I was surprised how bad I beat him since I was at the bottom of fourth and he has i/h/e.(yippy)
