What have you done to your MS3 today?

Blue leds in cup holder.....I had the same idea, so easy to do. Looks best with a water bottle though.

Yes, I had seen it done before too, though w/the lights mounted @ the bottom-center of the cupholder facing up(?). Seemed like an odd place to me, so I mounted them in the side/ends to reflect the light within the cupholder.
I wanted some light in there because half my driving is done in the dark, and keeping w/the Blue-red (orange) theme of our dash lighting, blue seemed the best choice.
I also mounted a rheostat/off switch in the dash so if I was getting too much reflection they could be turned down, or off.
These pics don't really do them justice as they can be too intense when a clear water bottle is in there. Then I turn them way down. Too much glare/reflection.
Not an original idea, I know, but I do like the way it looks and that they serve a practical purpose too.

Here are some night time pics.
The first is of my stainless steel under blue plastic coffee mug and as you can see, it can be seen easily but doesn't really shine/stand out. It's better in person than this pic would indicate.
The second one is a clear water bottle, label intact. Believe me, in person it's almost too bright which is why I installed the pot on the dash. Like the look and the light, but don't want to be blinded either.

Looks good bbrich.
I really enjoy your quick and informative responses. (cabpatch)

I know I ask alot of questions, but...what LED's did you use? What Voltage, resistor etc. How did you fix them in place? Did you use those new flat onces and simlpy glued them to the back of the c.holder?

Really like the Video and the others pics on you photobucket.

And here's something else I was unable to post until recently. Why, you may ask? Because all we had available out in the country until now was dial-up. F**king DIAL-UP!!!
We finally got DSL again, and I forgot just how much I missed broadband. (nana) (breakn)

I know the feeling of dial up. I was at my parents house over the weekend (country and ONLY dial up) I tried watching your vibrant video...took about 15 minutes to buffer it all!!!

I finally put my Summer rim/rubbers back on. Such a nice difference from the winter rubbers.

I am a hacker!!! j/k, when you click on your vibrant video clip, you can just go into your photobucket account and check out all your images and stuff!! For example your pink Mazda!!! haha

Fair enough, I will have to put some thought into fixing the leds in place!!!

I will be looking forward to your pm.

Cheers

Do you prefer the Hot Pink or the Mary Kay version? (lol)

I actually did those for "Cherry" who just wrecked her yellow hatch. They're posted on here, or somewhere? Maybe iMazda?

I better not show my girlfriend, she might buy a Mazda3 in metalic hot pink!!!

I replaced my brake light with an 54 LED set and took out the red reflector, now she is all clean and clear in the rear and complete with LED's.

When I picked up my MS3 on Tuesday, it hadn't been PDI'd yet, so I told them not to touch it since the last time they washed one of my black cars, there were towel streaks al over it and it loked worse than before they washed it...

Since it hadn't been PDI'd, I hunted down all the leftover stickers, remnants of protective plastic covers on the wheels, cleaned the wax pencil numbers off the back window, removed the window sticker, the inventory number sticker, removed the front tag frame (I'll be mounting my front plate in the passenger side windshield to let as much air as possible in the front grille when it gets warm here in Texas in the summer time), took the plastic out of the driver's side footwell and installed all the carpeted floor mats.

...and the best thing I've done so far...I installed the solid aluminum Team Voodoo shift knob that has been in all four of the Miatas I have driven in past years in my MS3 and put the cushy stock leather MS3 shift knob in the closet. While Voodoo knobs aren't for the weak (great for toughening your hands up in the summer time), it REALLY makes the shifts feel so much more precise than it did with the stock knob on it. Highly recommended upgrade. :)

how did you do the cupholder thing...i wana do that

today I installed the mazdaspeed CAI on my ms3! It looks sweet, sounds amazing, and drives even better. So far it was very much worth the money.

One thing that I did notice was that under full boost in 3rd gear there is an ever so slight hesitation that didnt use to be there. It doesnt happen every time so I am hoping that the ecu just needs time to adjust to the new setup and it will work itself out. This happened in my old protege so I think its the same scenario here.

Ah. Home for the w/e Jbiird? Or time off for good behavier?

haha time off for good behavior. We get 3 weeks back at home and as a reward for all our hard work, I get to fly back on Easter Sunday!! (yupnope)

i do enjoy being back with my ms3, however brief it may be...

lets see what did i do to my mazda 3 today... hmm not much but yesterday i traded it in for a new 07 mazda 3. :)

Today i did sit and admiere my new baby for a little while and played with the bunch of ammenities it has compared to my prehistoric 04 mazda 3.

I change my oil, installer the AWR rear engine mount and installed the Cp-e CAI.
It was a long day..:)
