What have you done to your MS3 today?

fog has nothing to do with the wiper, just hit the defrost button. i've heard good things about rain-x but never tried it. but i've also owned several sedans which don't have rear wipers and it's never been a problem. don't know why the hatch would be any different...

It's all in how the wind runs down the back of the car. Sedans have a different degree on their back window and wind runs down it and blows the water off at speed. On the speed3 the spoiler changes the airflow so that it doesnt directly push the water off the rear window. Either way it isnt such a big thing you have two side mirrors as well and if its raining hard enough water will flow down and you'll be able to see anyway.
I think I've used my rear wiper a total of 3 times in the 4 years I've owned the car. Not a lot of water lands on it due to the spoiler and high speeds.

Needed a better coupler solution for the top pipe on my fmic and decided to try the oem boost tube. Cut a 3" long piece of exhaust pipe to mate with the turbo coupler, and perfect fit! Wish I would have tried this sooner!

Dang. I can see why you're blowing couplers off! Haha. I don't thing the OEM boost tube is supposed to have much more than stock boost put through it. You should find a nice coupler solution and invest in some T-Bolt clamps.

Changed my cabin air filter (@ ~31K miles):

took off three heat shields, loosened five turbo nuts, disconnected two clips for ONE O2 sensor,(hardess part of the whole ordeal so far) took out one O2 sensor. gonna finish it up in the morning.

Thanks for the link, just ordered one.

For the people who deleted your rear wiper, what do you do about the window to keep it fogging up and what about when it rains? Are you guys using rain-x or something on the window?

hope you like it. i sure do. i don't have any problems when it rains. i don't use anything on my window and i can see just fine which is why i never used the wiper to begin with and decided to delete it. i think it's just me though...the water doesn't phase me. as long as i can see the cars behind me i'm good. they don't have to appear perfectly clear. i think these hi-def days just have most of us spoiled where we expect everything to be crisp and clear

how'd you do with the removal/installation? did you already know what you were doing or did you get some help from "how-to" or that youtube vid?

I've got a FSM, so I already knew what was entailed...

There's a decent video floating around too, but aside from it entailing about 5 too many steps and the fact that you have to work in an uncomfortable, awkward space it wasn't too terrible, I guess. :p

cool. i got the manual on adobe (which totally blows, id rather have it physically in a book with paper). i actually just did it myself a few weeks ago and the worst part for me was getting the new ones in because of the whole stacking crap

i was initially confused when i saw ppl posting pics of 2 filters. but then when i removed 1 and the other one fell down i was like "ohhhhhh....crap"

found a plug for the wiper delete at my local hardware store. 1 1/4" rubber "cork." fits perfectly and cost me $1.65.

(sorry for the bad cell pics, but just wanted to give you the basic idea.)

Get the FMIC, looks bad ass. DP is a PITA, why I don't have one yet.

honestly, it isn't bad AT all. you can get a deep socket WITH universal on ALL 5 nuts. lots of PB blaster and your good to go. of course the first time takes a while, but if i EVER had to do it again, probably take me 4-5 hours tops going at an easy pace

you talking about exhaust bolts? if it isn't under 1k miles you'd be better off getting an oxy-acytaline torch to help you with those bolts. that is, if you don't want to shear them off

btw...totally did that on my header bolt for my restoration project jeep. totally ****** on the header since after i broke the bolt i also broke the bolt removal tool (hardened steel).

going to a fender rolling shop to have a bit more rolling done to fit these tires, then an alignment since im vdubbin in the back right now
