What have you done to your MS3 today?

So, not my MS3, but my dad has recently been car shopping, and we went and drove an Audi S5 and a Mercedes E63 AMG...wow. The Merc. hauls sooooo much ass. He will probably get a '10 Audi S5/4.2. So ill have some pics up when he gets it
Very nice. I can tell your family is a bunch of Audi nuts. I'm starting to become a major fan of theirs.

washed the car, there must be flying dogs in my neighborhood, i dunno what kinda s*** that was but it was gross. made an appt for an alignment

oh yeah. They are doing a lot of really nice stuff, and they are finally going back to their roots with the 5 cyl turbo. The new TT-RS is going to be a 5 CYl turbo, and hopefully we'll see it in some other stuff as well. I think I have him sold on an Ibis White/Black Leather combo. The only bad part is that he wants an automatic. Oh well...at least i'll get do drive it.

Installed the Progress Rear sway bar today. Put it on the softer setting. Virtually all the body roll is gone now, I love it. The wife was in the car so I wasnt able to push it too hard but I will tomorrow.

you gonna try the stiffer setting? i've got one in the mail, can't wait to give it a whirl...!

bought a jack and jack stands today so that i can do more work myself in the driveway. rotated the tires to start. while the wheels were off i cleaned them very thoroughly. also checked every single part of the suspension in hopes of eliminating the clunking issue but everything was solid. im almost certain that its the medieval trans mount. i cant wait for my trz tranny mount to get here.

Yeah I will probably try the stiffer setting once I get used to the change of it now. I probably wouldn't be able to detect a change between the two right now because I haven't pushed it too hard on the softer setting.

I had a clunk over bumps that turned out to be the actual sway bar bushings. They are cheap to replace if the medieval mount turns out to be sound.

Installed a Cobb FMIC. Took a lot longer than I expected. Early impression is very, very positive!

cobb FMIC FTW.

and the clunking happens over manholes and small bumps and only on the front drivers side. doesnt matter if its hot or cold out. plus there is a metallic jingle like keys or something that I cant identify either. when i receive the trz mount and install it ill see if it goes away. i forgot to say this too, but i did a real mequires carnuba wax today. not the spray on stuff. wow my car is like a mirror.

Haven't noticed anything yet, only went for a "quick spin" to shake out anything obvious. My SE-R suffered from blown couplers a few times because the kit on it didn't fit quite as nicely as the Cobb. I have a rear TRZ mount but think I could use a bit more shoring up of the engine now.

Maybe I'll get brave tomorrow and load a map (running stock mode currently).

Alright just a preview picture for now. I installed:

-235/40/18 falken rt-615's on 18x8.5" rota svn's powdercoated a mixture between volk's magnesium blue and blue ice explosion
-muteki neo-chrome lugs
-g2 black calipers with white stoptech decals
-partplaza carbon fiber hood lifts
-jbarone shift weight with engine dress up kit
-redline goods shift, e-brake and arm rest boots to match factory interior
-progress rear sway bar on stiffest setting
-awr endlinks
-fixed glove box rattle
-switched to motocraft tranny fluid

I still have to install my semi-gloss black nextmod spoiler lip and mirror covers, and remove the rear wiper and replace with black honda plug that should be here today. I have a few other odds and ends to tie up this week before I get some really good pictures.

Here is the only picture for now (this picture was before anything else but the wheels were installed. I left from the transmission fluid change to head to my friend's garage to install all the parts listed above. I had to remove the wheels again when I got there):

My knuckles are skinned up and I have a sore neck, but I am beyond happy with how the car came out. The handling on the car now is phenomenal. Handles like it is on rails. And the transmission is so much more smooth with the new fluid and counter-weight. Car feels so much more solid now. These came out with a little more blue in the color than Volk's magnesium blue, but I believe it was the right decision, 'cause the color would have looked more purple on mine. Everyone that has seen them has had nothing but positive things to say and they have turned some heads for sure. I am thoroughly pleased and I will be getting some stuff under the hood powdercoated from him hopefully this summer.

Looks awesome man! Those wheels turned out really good-powdercoat the valve cover the same color, perhaps? Is that a little crawl space under the garage so you can work under the car without jacking it up? That is so awesome, my garage is definitely getting one of those someday!

LOL I wished...that was at the shop getting the tranny fluid changed. My fiance and I are in the process of house hunting, I can't wait to get me a garage. That picture was taken after I left the tire shop and then had tranny fluid changed, and before I got to my friend's garage where I installed everything else. Thanks tho, I love the wheels. Just wait till you see this color in sunlight, it will literally put your eye out. They look dull in this picture, but they have HEAVY metallic flake. Its soooo sick :)
