What have you done to your Miata today?

Dropped it off at the body shop to get the bumper repaired.
Just ordered a CX racing aluminum radiator as well
Also got conf. The coil overs will be here Friday

Drove it for the first time since august. Brought it home so i could put in a new ignition switch, both axle seals, and get some body work taken care of. It will soon be officially going to its new owner (even though he has had it since august anyway) so i can buy my new car

Installed new exhaust manifold studs & hardware (with antiseize, w00t!)

Studly :D

Managed to find an older laptop still running XP as well as a USB to serial adapter and succesfully installed Data Log Lab on it

Only thing left to do to see if i can use it is plug it into the car when I get it back from getting repaired.

Then i'll be able to use the Data Log Lab software and laptop to tune the car!

I checked on it in the barn yesterday. It's still there.

Adding some extra bolstering to the seats (no, the duct tape isn't permanent, just for proof of concept).

New FM Clutch/Flywheel/Pressure Plate is in. Car Feels awesome now, Need to do a little bit of adjusting but I like it.
About to order some high temp paint blue paint for my VC.

Today's project is too pull some of the unnecessary s*** out of the bay to help clean it up a little bit.

hey m2. nice job. what seat do you have?

as far as my build not much has happened yet. But my brother is looking for a miata, mk3 supra, or an mr2. so I a have been looking around for a good NB for him.

Its a Sparco Sprint Junior. Not the best choice, but they are better than original and its cheap. But I would prefer aMaff his seat. They are very nice. I have seen them on the MotorsportExpo in Cologne last year. But not street legal. (pissed)

Next steps for me: install big brake of 1.8NA model, PU-bushings, KW-Coilovers. In march I can go to track again.

What kind of unnecessary s*** could you have in a relatively stock Miata?

I had my co-driver over (an experienced wrench in his own right) and we knocked out a massive chunk of the to-do list tonight (and a number of beers).

Oil Changed.
Re-hung the header-back exhaust
Bled the brakes and clutch.

Oh, and we found 10 lbs to kick to the curb.

At this point we figured we'd get 5 or 6 lbs total between the 2 crash bars.
Nope!

You live in Florida. Why the hell would you remove wiper motors? Ain't no Rain-X that can handle some of the rain you get down there.

I tend to agree, although its not the rain it can't handle, it's AFTER it's rained and the tire spray from other cars

But John, josh, and myself swapped out the flyin Miata springs and blown shocks for my new flyin Miata vmaxxs. Rides soooooooo much better!

Also sourced some smoked clear front signals this morning

Pulled the lower intake mani, coolant leak was at the hose coming from the back of the head to the oil cooler. Not a big one but it was wet. Also removed the fuel rail and injectors, water pump and crankshaft pulleys. Started cleaning up the square top manifold with a rotary wheel (not wire, it's some sort of stiff nylon with some mild abrasive on the tips. Does a good job without scarring up the aluminum).
