What have you done to your Miata today?

But John, josh, and myself swapped out the flyin Miata springs and blown shocks for my new flyin Miata vmaxxs. Rides soooooooo much better!
I'm jealous you have yours installed already. It's been too cold here to do much of anything!

Hrmmmm, might take that off your hands.

Just ordered
  • Gates Racing Timing Belt
  • Continental Alternator Belt
  • Continental AC Belt
  • Continental Power Steering Belt
  • Duplicolor Metalcast Blue Paint
  • VHT High Temp Clear
  • Purolator Gold filter (needed to spend a little more money on Amazon for free shipping)

Picking up my OEM water pump from Tylor Tomorrow

And then Friday
  • Planet Miata Shifter Rebuild (although Im waiting for solid bushing for my 6SP)
  • New Rear Cupholder (Girlfriend keeps nailing her funny bone on it)

Looked at mine when the garage door was open. Maybe I'll start it up today.

I knocked out a few more small items yesterday:

Cleaned up (with a grinder) the cuts to make sure I didn't have any obvious sharp edges.
Spray-bombed the cut areas with rust inhibitor / paint.
Took the dash bar out and cut off a couple of brackets where the stock dashboard mounted to. Without the dashboard, they turned into knee-spears, which was always awesome as you were getting ready for an autocross run.
I cleaned those cuts up as well and smoothed them down, then gave the whole thing a couple fresh coats of rust inhibitor / paint, mostly to clean up a few spots where bolt heads had rubbed the paint away.

Today I'll be trying to figure out where this massive clunk the car has developed at the rear is coming from. Something is loose, I just have no idea what. While it's on the ground on wheel dollies (so I can move it around) I'll probably check / correct (if necessary) the alignment.

I guess the nagging feeling of not installing the coilovers yet finally worked its way into my dreams last night. I had one of those all-night dreams about ... installing the coilovers on my miata. (hand)

lol nice

I was offered 15" NB sports for $75 with no tires. Debating doing it since i need tires on my current wheels

Current wheels are 19 lbs each, the NB's are 13. Trying to decide if it's worth it

and now hopefully my stock radiator can last another day or two since the new CX Racing aluminum radiator just came in

My luck, it'll crack on the way home

I'd take those wheels in a second. They look awesome on the NA.

Found Tirerack has Fuzion ZRi's in 205/50/15 for $256 for a full set

So for just over $400 (with mount/balance) i'd have new wheels/tires on the car which are smaller diameter as well as lighter

arg. . .

Yeah, $60 / set is not a bad price on those, and they look good on the car.

Yea that's cheap. They should go for $200 a set so if they're clean and not damaged you made out.

Cx radiator installed

Looks good

Looks really weird right now considering how nasty the VC is, but I think when the VC is painted everything will flow nicely. Also, Might be painting the Intake Manifold Black. Should bring everything together really nicely.

Oh and the rusty nuts dont help, trying painting them blue first (same color the VC is going to be)

If I dont like that, going to pick up some new hardware.

been reading around just for giggles, but i found something that might be interesting.

By running the recirc valve, i cant' shoot fire, but if i were to run a BOV or VTA, i will. . . .

That alone kinda makes me want to go VTA/BOV

It'll kill the "sleeper" aspect as well as require me to get new pipes or mod them to put on a new flange
