What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

its actually lighter.. feels good in your hand.. havent took the car out yet.. wasent really going for heavy knob feels better racing thing.. more for looks at shows.. pics tomorrow if its nice..

Did a compression test on my car today as well as new spark plugs. Perfect compression on all cylinders. I measured 192psi on all 4. Even the spark plugs that come out looked pretty good. Looks like I'm still pretty safe engine wise. :) oh. Also put a mazdas246 decal on my back window.

Where did you get the test done steve? And how much did they charge you? I wan't to have that done.

Had the most amazing launch today and took a nismo 350z with a couple of posers down in the process. Closed road of course :).

Yes Steve. Please let us know.

Lol. Bought the tester from advance. 25 bucks. I did it myself. It was easy. You just have to test the car when it is hot. Too bad for those TMIc guys.

Just got done installing my Corksport SRI/TIP and also JBarone SSP. Went for just a short 15 mile test drive, but so far so good. The SSP is great. I really like it already. I didn't really get on it at all as I am letting it relearn some trims, so I can't give a good review of the CS intake yet, but I could already hear that turbo whistling just a little bit. Can't wait to get a few more miles on it and really open it up. How long should I take it easy before going all out?

So, over the last 2 weeks I have put on CPE RMM, CS SRI/TIP, Jbarone SSP, and I ran some seafoam through it. I bought it used with about 25K on it and was completely stock for 6 months or so. I am looking forward to driving a whole new car to work tomorrow (rockon)

Thanks qwik. Ill do it myself too. Didn't realize the tester was cheap. Just disconnect (unplug) the coil packs and your good to go right? How many turnovers did you do ?

Nice. Should be a nice feeling once the trims settle. Im thinking about getting the CS full intake setup.

Do it exactly as you would changing the spark plugs. But make sure the engine is up to full temp before you take out the plugs. So gloves are a must. I kept a battery charger on my battery during this to keep it fully charged. Remove all 4 of the spark plugs. Thread in the compression fitting until its snug and o-ring is sealed. Now go back into the car. Push both the clutch and the gas pedal to the floor. Flooring the gas pedal triggers the relay under the hood to cut any fuel flow. Turn over the car. I did 3 nice 2 second cranks. Then run back to see where the psi is at. then repeat on each cylinder. You want your numbers to be constant.

mazdas246 huh? i'll have to check that site out ;)

Yea. For those of us that only drive 6 days a week. Typo. :)

im gettin the MSCAI next week installed by a dealer. Should i disconnect the battery and re attach it so the ECU can Re-learn the trims or will i not need to do that?? sorry noob on the subject and first performance mod ive ever had done to any car.

Well especially since intakes can cause the car to run a little lean (mine is right now with my CAI) it wouldn't hurt to disconnect the battery. The fuel trims will be a little different due to greater amount of air coming into the engine.

You need to reset the ECU anytime you do anything that messes with the MAF sensor. So yes you need to reset the computer. Hopefully the dealer will do it for you. In all honesty you might want to consider doing it yourself (install). Save a lot of money / time for a basic 30 min install.

When I first got my car the dealer wanted to charge me almost 200 bucks to install the MSCAI. What a rip off.
