Wow! this turned out to be a much better conversation than I had hoped. It's clear to me now, there is no way I'm getting out of STS (give up my SS? Nevar!!) so I'm gonna run with it. I am installing a better rear sway bar and endlinks for the next event.. hehe

Thanks guys, I am not concerned about placing in the top of the pack... this is my novice year.. it's all about FUN! and that it is a whole lot of!!

If I want to be a better driver, the car is the least of my worries (rofl2)

glad to hear it. one word of advice, though: do your mods and then stop. don't keep modding the car as you learn; it's best to have a stable platform on which to judge your progress.

otherwise it will be hard to tell if the change is due to your driving or the mod(s). keep us posted and welcome to the club.

seriously. get yo' sef some 15" mazda wheels (MX-6 or 626 work well) and some 205/50/15 Azenis, or your street tires will be crying pretty soon. plus you'll have more fun and be a LOT faster.

That's in the plan book for sure! The 18" Falken tires on there now are horrible on the AutoX course...

Question: Do I need all 4 or can I just do the front tires and wheels? I saw a few cars running that way last time..

do all 4. the Azenis are a LOT stickier than "normal" street tires, and having them on the front only will throw your car all out of whack.
