Weird feeling...

Ever since I rotated my tires at 5000 miles, now I have 6100 it feels like my car moves by itself on the highway side to side by itself. Could the alignment be that off just from rotating the tires?

Alignment should be fine...did you check for uneven treadwear. I'm guessing it's either that or maybe your psi...also check to make sure to retorque the bolts on the wheels. After you take the wheels off rotate them or whatever and put them back on they generally have to be retorqued after a few trips.

btw what part of ct are you from?

Probably from not re-torquing OR over-torquing the lugs.

Wait... over torquing? I thought wheels were something you just wrench-down as tight as you can...

NO NO NO SIR! wheels must be properly torqued if you over torque them you run this risk of warping brake rotors and or breaking the wheels studs...i know the torque on mine is somewhere between 70-80ft lbs or torque...

Let me just make mention of the red RX-7 on that autox course. Hahah.

That is from over-torquing I heard. But who knows.
WOW that was insane!

Continuing my torque questions here: Torque those lug nuts!

Back on topic:
I've had a feeling like you're describing on certain stretches of road. If you're not driving on an unfamiliar road it's probably not what's happening to you though...

exactly, and the feeling of warped rotors is..

say your going down the highway, and you use your brake.. your steering wheel starts to vibrate or "shake"....

no not so much the steering wheel but the brake pedal will pulse or almost vibrate but you will deff feel it in the pedal and in some cases it can make the steering wheel vibe or shake like you are refering to...These problems could also come from low brake pad lining will do the same but if your pad or fine i would lean toward a bad "warped" rotor/s

I live IN Southbury!!! O_O

There is a meet at Sage Park on the Berlin Turnpike this coming Saturday at 1:30 pm... you CT members should come!

Well, we're just going go-karting, dinner and movies.

There will be about 8-10 of us--mostly 3s--but anybody can come.

I'll be there in my Ford Fusion rental.

I'm a chick. hahaha.

Bent two rods last Friday, so it is at the dealer getting a new engine.
