Why do wasps love my Mazda3? Every day, I come out to the lot and find a couple wasps hanging out around my car and in my rearview mirrors. They don't seem to like anyone elses car.

Is it the wax? Is it because it's black and shiny?

Anyway, it worries me a little because I don't want to get on the highway and find that one of those bastards has snuck into the cabin with me...

If your car is shinned up real nice they might mistake it for water or something. Whenever I finish washing my car during the spring and summer time it turns into bug paradise for some reason. My advise, just bring a fly swatter with ya and teach those bastards a lesson! Actually it's probably better just to leave 'em alone. They won't sting you as long as you don't bother them. Just remember...wasps can sting more than once, which gives them a decisive advantage over the mighty bumble bee!

I doubt it is the wax unless you can still smell the wax.

Maybe it's just the color? I know with my friend's yellow Tiburon there's always bugs having sex all over that car haha.

I could get one of those big cans of Raid that's specially made for killing wasps and hornets.

Do you think the pesticides and the propellants would damage the car's finish?

Definitely!

BTW - I bet you use one of those sweet smelling tire gloss applocations, or some exotic air freshener.

That would probably melt the paint right off :P . I wouldn't risk it. Just get one of those suits the beekeepers wear :D

So, I think they're trying to nest in the rear-view mirror enclosures. I've been seeing them come out of there. Maybe I'll drive the car to the quarter-wash and powerwash their developing nest out of there.

tell them to quit bothering you and your car and go hang out in their church's parking lot instead
and i'm pretty sure one of them isn't gonna sneak into your car w/o you noticing, unless it's a lil kid and you left the doors open for a bit
