War Has Never Solved Anything!!

If you are not happy with the United States Of America as your home, pack your belongings and simply leave this country. (usa) (usa) (usa)

Good Luck to ya! (yippy) Find a home that suits your needs better, find one that gives you what this great country doesn't. I doubt this country will miss you either!

Just a guess...white, young, raised in the suburbs, and all of a sudden you have the solution to world peace.

Give me a break! then grow up!

Sorry, I still have faith in America, and the American people. I will, however, not stand by and let bulls*** like the Patriot Act just fly by and not even talk about it. I guess a real American just stands back and lets the country go to s***? If you like that, move out. (Oh s***)

Guess what, I'm young, white, and my parents are school teachers. I live in the south on a dirt road and I have seen my fair share of stupiditiy, racism, and ignorance. Would my option matter more if I was old and black and from housing projects?

Give me a break, and look out the ******* window.

go look up section 802 and tell me the patriot act is not a bad thing. Here is a list of instances where the patriot act was used on everyday american citizens.
http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/october2004/091004patriotact.htm

Just because it hasnt effected you yet directly doesnt mean no one else is.

Hey look, I was simply conceiding to the idea that at times we have to see things from another point of view, and if you quote me, you better give more credit to my point that the intro line.
My point is that with more checks and balances (more needed accountability on the part of those who wish to investigate you and still the need for a quick trial to prove your guilt) this effort may actually be worth something.
The way it is though and with the indefinate renewals it's received a lot of innocent people are going to get caught in the drag-net.
Listen carefully because this is one of the difficulties in life that is even central to this dicussion. There is a balance (look at the yin-yang, or even read about the conclusion of Job in the Bible). For this reason the same knife that can be used to cut bread and share your brother, can be used to slit his thoat. (Is the knife then not suppose to exist).
More checks and balances so that fewer instances of unfounded accusations can occur, and the right to a trial is key.
What I use to love about America is the presumption of innocence until proven otherwise. But when no one has to prove anything, you better hope everyone at the sheriffs office is liking you. (glare) Do you get it?

As to pluto, I feel like you are my brother in arms. This is a losing battle. Just like the things you saw growing up on that dirt road, the opinion thats growing in this country is like Jbreed said, that you can leave it if you don't love it.
To those who say you're only twenty, white and from the burbs, I say I see eye to eye with you, and I'm black 23 with a Masters degree and grew up in the dark continent, seeing things in those years that some may not in 100. As a testament of faith in the ideals of America I live here, I'm never afraid or worried to go back, because bigger than my faith in man, is that which I have in God.
I hardly know anything still, but I ask listen observe and read, and get into discussions like these to share thoughts just like pluto about a better way, but the day we stay quite is the day carelessness will plunge this dream into calamity (think about Rome, and what a great civilisation it was, and how its downfall came, as a result of ambitious use of its military strength).
Love this America carefully.
Let's just talk to each other with respect and answer each other giving consideration for what we say, or chose not to say a thing at all.

By the way before anyone makes any suggestions as to what great benovelence brought me here. I came form a hard working middle class African family and my father is an engineer who worked hard as any can appreciate to give me the education of my choice. I didn't come here cause its the best, I came here cause I liked it and I will go anywhere in this world at some time or other to share life with different people as long as its possible, and I strongly suggest leaving home sometimes to see that other people matter too.

I see your point and agree with a lot of things youve said. Talking is always a good thing, but its useless if the other side doesnt listen with an open mind. People are always worried about their constitutional rights but they dont take into consideration the changes in the world that happened since then. Yes the Patriot Act might take some of your freedom but thats the small price you pay to be safe. Is it the best way to deal with it I dont know? But I do know that the men in office are doing their best. And there is still the old saying if you do nothing wrong you have nothing to worry about. And I can tell you that is true. War is the same as a fistfight. You dont want to get into a fight, you know some body is going to get hurt and it might be you. But if you have a guy that just want stop messing with you or your family you do what you have to do to make it stop. If you know the guy was going to come get you would you wait for it? I never waited; I always made sure I struck first.

Is there a better way, sure there is. There is always a better way, but you have to have something in place until you figure out what it is. For those of you who think you have a plan dont just sit here and b**** about it. Take it to your congressman, hell send it in a letter to the white house. Do something but quit all the BS

Here's the part that bugs me about what you said.. No one was trying to fight us. A group of people made an attack to the US and instead, rather than catch the ring leader, we attacked a country that had nothing to do with it. I am not saying the war of American idependance wasn't great. England was taxing the colonies without sending support back, that's bad. The conflict was between two nations with a mutal call for war. Compare this to what we are doing in Iraq.

And I'll say it again, someone who gives up freedom for safey does not deserve saftey or freedom.

And ask yourself in those three instances if it wasn't for a war would they still be continuing in the areas that they were? Sure you can find instances elsewhere, but from the region that was experiancing it unfortunely it took a war to sort things out.

As I've said before in other post. The war in Iraq did come about because of 911. The intel at the time suggested that there was a high probability that Sadam had a hand in it. With that and the fact that Iraq was not following the rules that the UN placed on that country and the reports that they might be planning another attack (with the help of others) we went in. Remember that even John Kerry said on National TV that if he were given the same info he would have done the same thing. When the intel was found to be wrong it was to late. We CANNOT pull out of Iraq now. We have to stay and finish it. As for the people in Iraq, yes there are allot of people that hate us. They are the ones that had money and power and their followers. But you also have to listen to the others. The ones that have no water on electricity that have to wipe their asses with their hands. Listen to the ones that Sadams sons killed for the hell of it. There are millions of Iraqis that love the fact that we are there. Those are the people that work with the US to find the insurgents.

Even with out 911 there was a high possibility that we and the UN would have went to war with Iraq anyway because they still were not following the UN's rules.

As for your freedom statement. You can't see the big picture. Freedom at the time constitution was made is not the same as freedom today. Back then if you burned the flag you were shot. If you tried to speak out and say things like FUCH the US you would have be beaten. Our forefathers didn't mean it that way. People took that inch and made it into a mile. I like how when the people of the US have their freedom and can come and go and say and do anything they want cry to the government as soon as something bad happens. 911 wouldn't have happened if the patriot act were in place. Have you noticed that nothing ells has happened sense 911. Yet if you look at other countries theyre going through hell because they don't have something like this. You still have the freedom you've always had. You can still have the American dream. Just don't break the law trying to get it and you'll be fine.

First, it's spelled D'oh.

Second, okay I will admin you are right about East vs. West. The way I was thinking about is was that Germany as a whole was not rebuilt by America vs. the USSR, and by that point you are correct; the country with the most money to spend did a better job.
In addition, the continued use of lyrics from a song talking about the downfalls of America, in my option, makes you look like a dipshit. The fact that you are a warmonger makes you look like an ignorant dipshit. You found one time where America did the right thing, let's play a game where we list the good and bad America has done on the world scale and we can see which list is longer. America, **** yeah!

First it's spelled admit...secondly caring so much about a pointless internet thread to the point you can't recognize sarcasm makes you as much of a "s***" head as I could ever hope to be.
You're just having residual pains over the election! AMERICA, **** YEAH!
DURKA, DURKA!
And your yammering on about the "old" and the "white" just shows what a racially biased liberal you are. Wrong is wrong no matter the age, gender, or color.
I am done...enjoy your liberal delusions.

so. . . . who likes the strawberry frosted pop-tarts?
I don't like the butterscotch ones. They make my head feel funny. Too much sugar I guess.

I was expecting someone to put up the pic with the retarded kid and the 'arguing in the web vs. competing in the special olympics' line.

Oh, and that reminds me - I'm late on paying my cable bill

I cant ******* stand it. I cant take anymore of these idiots consciously thinking its ok to give up major freedoms for a temporary security.

WTF did all the puppets like bush and rumsfield say the day of 9-11? They said the terrorists attacked us cause they hate out freedoms and way of life now you ******* list for me what freedoms al-CIAda has taken from us and what freedoms have been legeslated away by our very own govt.

opinion, not option.

When I look out my window, (beyond the horizon) there is a train track, then a Wal-Mart nestled very neatly in strip center right next to Sam's Wholesale.

So What...

What does seeing your fair share of racism, poverty, and ignorance have to do with this? Or if you were old and black living in a housing project? nevermind, I really don't want to know.

GOODBYE

You know what I like about this country? I can criticize you and you can criticize me and neither of us have to worry about a Jihad on each other. If I don't like who's in charge I can assemble peacefully outside the White House and protest and not get shot or beheaded over it. I can criticize the president for any reason and as long as I don't threaten the peace, I'm OK. I like the fact that if I don't like it I can leave when I want. I like the fact the govt is up everyone's ass trying to weed out the threats. I don't know of many countries that let you do this in the middle east. If America is so bad then why are there so many illegal aliens from Mexico. Why are Cubans tying 55 gallon drums to old Chevy trucks to float over? Why are there so many dissidents from all over the world over here. Probably because we're not as bad as they're home countries. And what happened to all those celebrities who were going to move to Canada and France if Bush got re-elected? Why are they still here? We have it better than anybody that's why! No offense, but if it's better elsewhere why are you still here? I know people in the military who've been to Korea, Somalia, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Japan, Germany, Iraq, and so on. Is it better over there to them? NO! Germany is the only place they would want to return. But not to live. When I look out my window I'll tell you what I don't see. I don't see an armed guard keeping my streets safe, I don't see terrorists using my neighbor's house for their safe house. I don't see an exploded Hummer. I don't see mortar rounds falling all around. I DO see folks living their lives. Not afraid a sniper might pick them off or afraid they may be abducted by the local terrorist group or that the new dictator is killing off all the men in town because they follow a certain religion. Maybe you should leave if you don't like it. But let us know how it is when you get there. And don't go to Italy or Germany or Switzerland where its nice. Go live somewhere where our military is "beating up on folks". Then talk to the people about our "bad" military and how they're just over there robbing them of their resources. Go somewhere the US has to send aid just so folks can live. Go talk to some holocaust survivors who are mad the US took power from the Nazis. Go talk to the poor over in some glamorous European country and ask them how their govt helps them. Go to North Korea and ask why only the military and govt officials seem to not want for food and shelter. Go to Saudi Arabia and ask why those folks are afraid to talk smack about the govt. Ask almost of those folks where they'd rather be. I think they'd tell you the US is where they would like to be.
Pluto, go ask your parents where the best country to live is. Ask them where we'd be if we didn't have so many laws.
This country isn't perfect but why are you here if there is so much wrong with it?
And Al-Qaeda didn't take away any liberties. Neither did your govt. If you're not plotting some disaster on this soil, you have not lost a single liberty!

War has solved nothing everything we have fought to stop still exists just doesnt effect us directly anymore therefore like I said its out of sight and out of mind to those idiot protestors. Also we will never live in true peace and harmony we will blow ourselves off the earth before that happends. But what I do know is that war isnt going to help lead to peace on earth like you seem to think.

Japan deserved the A Bomb. They were almost as bad as the Nazis. Their troops murdered and plundered around Eastern Asia and, of course, they attacked Pearl Harbor Naval Base.

They surrendered pretty quick after the bombs.
