V6 for p5?!?!?!?

Dont know much about the 3rd gens, havent realy worked aroudn them too much. But, Doom spun u will NEED to run your P/S if u dont or if u remove it it will seize up your waterpump,

What u can do is just have the fluid loop thru without going thru the rack&pinion, if u just dont want it. But If u do all that u might as well just go ahead and use it. But i advise not to remove the p/s pump,a nd make sure to keep it functioning properly.
The P/S pump will only be there to keep the water pump strap in place. I will not bother with the hoses.

And about the Brake Booster being in the way of the long neck manifold, u can use the mx3 brake booster which is about half the size of the protege one. Which will save space and the long neck manifold should fit, IF u still want to use it.
I tought about using other master cylinders, but I'm running Mazda 6 brake and I really need to upgrade, so when I have the money, i will put these:

With your ECU electric issues, u really shouldnt have any. Just use the probe GT/mx6 LS. I would say try a mx3 Gs harness but those are more geared toward the 1st gens BG chassis like mine.
Worst case scenario, I just use everything from the Probe!

The 6cyl Linkage , and the 4 cyl linkage ARE different
The differences between L4 and V6 linkage is only in lenght. I'm doing a custom shifter, since my driving position is lower and further back than stock, I didn't mind about that at first , but then I'm gonna put the FS in the Probe, so I'll keep each one with the matching linkages

Im willing to bet my V6 protege, that this swap is as simple as it was in my car. You will be suprised how related the cars are.
This is what I'm hoping, but you never know, sometime little details can slow down the work! Thanks for the advices!

Just a quick question: After the swap, is there room to turbo it as well, or is it so cramped you can't fit it?
there's room for 2!

k lets get this straight?
u used the mx6 tranny?? is it the same one the 2.0l uses in the pro already?
one last thing, the kl-ze, is it ob1 or 2?
I use everthing from the Probe, Engine/transmission must stay together!
The KL-ZE is OBD-1

See you soon! (burnout)

The Mazda 929 1" bore master cylinder fits, but it'll reduce clearance to the elbow more, I'm guessing, since it even makes it difficult to fit a CAI there on the FS.

The MX3 booster would probably just reduce the amount of vac assist, so the pedal would probably feel a little harder to press to get the same braking out of it, but it might be worth it, anyway. Since you're considering the Tilton three pedal assembly, ANY assist would be more than you have with the Tilton setup, despite not being as cool. ;) Then again, the 1" bore cylinder is the same deal, but man, it makes that pedal ROCK hard, which is awesome. =) You really feel everything through the brakes after that.

actually you can use any V6 tranny with any V6.
for us 1st gen guys we have to use a V6 MX3 tranny, with either a klze, klde, kfze, kfde, k8 or whatever. there all interchanable

Domspun: YOU ARE THE MAN! Good luck bro!

PS: I should be able to have the money for my 4-disks conversion this automn as planned. Be ready to make some quick money lol ;)

This thread is getting more interesting by the minute. Is there a time table for when this all will be finished?

Yea I'm kind of drooling over the thought of this being done. I love s*** that is different and unique.

ahh yes and if its not a big hassle in the end i may just ahve to do it....pay my car off and then put a v6 in it would eliminate me having to buy another car altogether!

One day I want to get the womp kit for my car because I like that unique factor and dont see many supercharged proteges. But like you said, if this dont cost an arm and a leg then i mght have to try this plus i can always supercharge it too. That be crazy, a supercharged v6 in a protege. Haha, people would be like what the hell. HAHA now that is unique.

^ahh yes......now get back to work!!!!!!!hahahahahahahaha

im doin andrews break BIATCH (boom05)

Take my advice though and get thermel spacers from here --> www.outlawengineering.com

a common problem with the K series V6's is the intake manifold gets really hot really fast, and you can mos def feel the power loss, because the intake manifold sits right over the top of the rear head.
so get some spacers, there only like $111 shipped, and one of the best 1st mods for the KL you can get.
