Finally, a REAL engine swap for the protege!
 
Looks to me like they had to relocate the radiator outward toward the bumper more, too, along with removing the fan for the AC. A pair of Spal fans on the front of the radiator would probably do, too. A set of headers can be had for another few hundred dollars beyond that, and you'd have to figure out exactly how to mate it up with your exhaust, otherwise. I consider all of this in the realm of very feasable, but you'd need a goodly amount of time to get everything working hunkey-dorey. I do have to wonder how much dash-related stuff runs through the factory ECU, though. Hmm. Anyone tried pulling the ECU, and turning the car on to acc mode?
 
the cars accesories will run, its the guages that will be haywire, until you splice them from the protege to the 626 ecu, given that the signals are simaliar.

freetranslation isn't very accurate though..

This swap really isn't that complicated folks. I've seen it done a couple times, even when I first got the DX back in early 2003 I knew a guy with a '01 ES that was doing the swap.
